Lou escaped a traumatic childhood. Her life was wonderful until the death of her parents, then it took a turn for the worse. Except for Drake. He’d saved her and she had returned that favor by being responsible for his death. Ten years later, she’s living in Washington State, getting her life on track when a mysterious man shows up on her doorstep. He reminds her of Drake, but this man’s name is Pete Calhoun. He’s recently moved to the area and is working for the Forest Service. Lou comes to care about him, but is it Pete she cares about, or is it that he reminds her so much of Drake? When Pete arrives, so then do the mysterious threats against her. Stories of ghosts, property damage, threats to her life. Lou doesn’t understand what’s happening until a horrible accident reveals an even more tragic truth. Just when Lou thinks the threats might be behind her, she finds her life threatened by a most unlikely source.
