I love Nalini Singh's books, and this one had me holding my breath and my heart beating hard! Ms. Singh is one of my favorite authors. I love this world, and her stories always have the reader invested in her storyline and her characters. I felt so much for Adam and Eleri, and for Jacques, and Bram and Dahlia. I held my breath as the countdown for Eleri and Bram started and, even though I knew it would have some kind of happy ending for at least Adam and Eleri, Ms. Singh had me awake at 3 AM...

I can't tell you how much I love Nalini's books, and this is definitely among my favorites. The characters have depth, growth and so much chemistry. As always the world building is just as interesting as the romance. Nalini always does what many authors cannot: writing deep characters in an intricate world. )

Read every Psy Changling book since Slave to Sensation, all the short stories findable and trying to figure out fanfic. Singh is an excellent writer. Her emotional payload is always rewarding, making investments in each character attractive as they get more dimensions over the timeline. Adam has been a character of interest since Branded by Fire and I am happy he’s got his own HEA. If there’s any weakness in Singh’s writing it’s that she takes multiple books to get to every world changing...

This is why Nalini Singh is a one-click author for me. This book was just lovely. I listened to the audiobook in one sitting. There was a bit of mystery (I did guess the bad guy very early, but it didn’t bother me) but the primary focus was on the couple. I think these matches between Psy and changeling are my favorite.
