Blackmailing Belle: A Spicy Beauty & The Beast Retelling (The Lost Girls Book 4)

by Holly Roberds

About this book

Belle thought her biggest problem was pretentious customers at her romance bookstore, but that was before she was hunted down by the Beast of Boston. Dominic Blackwell is a ruthless mafia boss and a fractured werebeast, a man whose reputation is as scarred as his skin. When her father’s debts catch up to them, Belle finds herself trapped in a high-stakes arrangement: marry the monster or watch her family burn.

This dark paranormal romance masterfully weaves the classic Beauty and the Beast tale into a gritty, modern underworld. As they navigate forced proximity within his isolated mansion, the tension between them turns volatile and primal. Dominic is a morally gray alpha desperate for a soul to anchor his shifting humanity, while Belle must rely on her sharp wit to survive a world where the line between captor and husband disappears.

If you crave shifter romances with intense pack dynamics and found-family elements, this story delivers. It is a slow-burn collision of enemies-to-lovers chemistry that simmers with undeniable spice. Holly Roberds creates a world that feels entirely fresh, proving that fairy tales are far more dangerous—and seductive—when the Beast is real. Dive into a collection where the pages are just as sharp as his claws.

Be our guest at Chapter Three!

I love that this series isn’t your typical fairytale retellings. It truly is a whole world unto its’ own. The world building and story telling makes you forget it is even based off of anything. It feels like it a whole new world. (No pun intended. LOL) As part of the world building, each book builds off of the last one. We get to see Lost Girls from previous books stories continue on through their interactions with the main character. This is book five in there series and is focused on a...

Spice: 3/5 This book was another strong and enjoyable installment in the Lost Girls series. I loved watching Belle slowly let her guard down and connect with the real man behind the reputation; her dynamic with Dominic was so well done, and their alternative event was such a sweet touch. Dominic’s transformation from a broody jerk to a completely smitten husband was incredibly satisfying, and his “my wife” moments had me grinning. The flutterbuns were absolutely adorable, and honestly, I want...

I admit I haven't read a lot of Beauty and Beast retellings. They have been popping up more frequently. This one...wow. Describing sex scenes as steamy comes nowhere near what the author has written. They are akin to the buildup and explosion of an atomic bomb, the tension sparking in your gut and the skyrocketing passion consuming your mind and body until you reluctanty put aside your e-reader because your mind has just been blown, in a good way. A++. For those who aspire to write like those...

Possible spoilers This book comes after Tasting Red and Chasing Goldie. While this book will still make sense without reading TR and CG, the experience will feel more well-rounded if you read all the books. Belle is considered one of Rap’s original Lost Girls and owns a romance bookstore she runs solo while taking care of her father. All of Rap’s girls are kickass in their own way and Belle is no exception. Dominic made for an excellent Beast of Boston and had a surprising sweetness behind his...

I liked the story and characters. It was a fun little twist of the original story. The book could have been a little shorter given the redundancy of many words and phrases. Sometimes I felt like I was reading the same sentence twice. ) One person found this helpful
