With Hearts of Flame (Deluxe Limited Edition): A Dark Academia Romantasy Novel of Vampires and Dragons Featuring Stenciled Edges and Illustrated Endpapers (Bloodwing Academy, 4)
Briar Boleyn
by Lacey Carter Andersen
Harper is finished playing by the rules of the dragon riders academy. After bonding with a rare male dragon, she has become the ultimate target for three arrogant, possessive royal princes who are determined to break her spirit. This high-stakes bully romance explores the friction between a defiant heroine and the alpha men who once looked down on her as nothing more than a commoner.
As the tension mounts, the enemies-to-lovers dynamic shifts from cold hostility to a scorching, complex dance of power. While the princes attempt to exert their influence over her, Harper refuses to bend. Armed with a sharp tongue and a stubborn resolve, she turns the tables, forcing these royals to realize that she is the one truly in control. It is a delicious slow-burn that rewards readers who love seeing powerful men brought to their knees.
Beyond the academy walls, a dark conspiracy looms. Tasked with delivering a cryptic message to the king, Harper finds herself at the center of a brewing war. With the fate of her people hanging in the balance, she must navigate shifting loyalties and dangerous magic. If you crave intense reverse-harem drama, fiery shifters, and a heroine who never backs down, this is your next obsession.

No insta-love. It takes the majority of this 2nd book for the MMCs to see Harper as anything more than a commoner that happens to have bonded a male dragon they all want to possess. Fortunately, their growth arcs are in a positive direction. I gotta say that I was delighted to see her ex fiancé was accompanied by her bestie, Arthur. He was the catalyst to the MMCs trying to pull their fragile egos out of their @$$es. My favorite part is when Lucien finally teaches Tesson that he will never have...

I feel like we’re slowly getting to the point with some aspects of this story. You can feel some of the changes going on with our mmcs the more we read. I feel like this book focused more on the bonds and the need to improve on them and not as much on the actual dragon riding and training. It does feel a bit choppy to me while reading. In some ways things are moving but at the same time I feel like we’re just going in circles. I also am undecided how I feel about the king and the so called bad...

The princes have definitely met their match when it comes to Harper. Shes alot stronger smarter and more stubborn than they thought. She proves herself at every turn. . )

I still did not feel that the MMC’s were any better than the first book. I am hopeful that another member will redeem the other 3 so the FMC has at least one decent mate. This series is almost YA with how little spice there is. The MMC’s are so immature that any chemistry that should be there just makes me nauseous. ) !Image 106: Ugh !Image 107!Image 108: Ugh !Image 109 _3 out of 5 stars_ ##### Ugh
