With Hearts of Flame (Deluxe Limited Edition): A Dark Academia Romantasy Novel of Vampires and Dragons Featuring Stenciled Edges and Illustrated Endpapers (Bloodwing Academy, 4)
Briar Boleyn
by Nora Roberts
Blair Murphy is a hardened demon hunter with a tragic past and a vow to remain unattached. As she struggles to prepare the Circle for the ultimate showdown against the vampire queen Lilith, she faces her most difficult challenge yet: training a ragtag group of warriors from across time and space. Among them is Larkin, a charming and persistent shape-shifter from the mythical land of Geall whose flirtatious nature threatens to dismantle her carefully constructed emotional walls.
This gripping installment of the Circle Trilogy masterfully blends urban fantasy with historical intrigue. As the group hones their magical abilities within the academy-style setting, the stakes continue to rise. Blair must balance her lethal combat training with the internal battle of trusting her heart once more. The friction between her disciplined warrior spirit and Larkin’s wild, shifting nature provides a sizzling romantic tension that keeps the narrative pulse racing.
Perfect for fans of paranormal romance, this story delivers a high-octane mix of suspense and character-driven drama. Whether the group is fending off Lilith’s deadly minions or navigating the complexities of their unlikely bonds, the action never falters. Prepare to be enchanted by a world where ancient legends collide with modern danger, ensuring you will be hooked from the very first page.

Not a fan of romance, I find myself enchanted by these terrific books. They have action, humor and just enough common sense so that the romance isn't annoying. The Circle is formed, bonds are created among the 6 (especially the newly hand-fasted Glenna and Hoyt!) and now it is time to move the group to Geall, to prepare for the battle ahead. Moira must prepare for the chance that she will take up the sword from the stone and assume the mantle of Queen of Geall and the Circle of Six must train...

This trilogy is my favorite of all she has written. She is at the zenith of her writing skills, her heroines are all strong women, with men strong enough to stand at their sides. The character colorations are breathtakingly vivid. A delightful quest, a tale of what might be if you believe. An unlikely friendship from different worlds and times woven into an elegant tapestry. And a creative melding of 21st century technology with the middle ages. The plot is built around a quest and some romance...

I am definitely waiting with bated breath for the next book since Moira has a lot more than Glenna or Blair to overcome in her little romance. For some reason, I liked the first book in the trilogy better - maybe Glenna's just easier to relate to? This one's not bad, (and I did read it in the usual 24 hours), but it does move a little slower and there's not quite the same victorious feeling. In the first one, it was really fun seeing the circle of six get formed, get in shape to take on the...

Nora Robert’s did her usual delightful storytelling and immersed the reader into the worlds of vampires, witches, and sorcerers. There is just enough romance to appeal to many readers. )
