Dark Enemy Taken (The Children Of The Gods Paranormal Romance Series Book 4)

by I. T. Lucas

About this book

The war between immortal factions reaches a fever pitch as Amanda, a brilliant researcher dedicated to peace, finds herself abducted by her deadliest rival, Dalhu. As a descendant of the gods, Amanda belongs to a clan that has spent millennia shaping human history from the shadows, while Dalhu represents the brutal, warmongering Doomers. Trapped in a high-stakes game of survival, the lines between captor and prisoner begin to blur, igniting an explosive chemistry that neither can ignore.

This installment of the Children of the Gods series masterfully blends ancient Greek mythology with a dark, modern edge. It is a quintessential enemies-to-lovers tale that thrives on forbidden passion and the tension of warring bloodlines. Readers who enjoy complex world-building will be captivated by the way I. T. Lucas weaves historical intrigue into a paranormal landscape where love is the most dangerous weapon of all.

If you are craving a series that balances intense, spicy romance with a gripping, epic scale, look no further. This story masterfully explores the struggle of finding connection in a lonely, immortal world. Dive into a narrative where every choice carries the weight of history and the future of humanity rests on the fragile bond between two sworn enemies.

Book four in the Children of the Gods series begins where book three ends, with Amanda's abduction by Dalhu. Amanda and Dalhu are near immortals, and their respective clans are at war with each other. Both clans originate from the mythological gods and had been at war since antiquity, when the God Mordth, the God the Doomers worship, had been spurned by the goddess Annani, the matriarch of Kian's clan. He had sworn himself as well as his descendants to wipe out Annani together with her...

Huge series!

Yes this is a huge series, and while I've only finished book 5 now, I'm thoroughly enjoying it! To start with, I love how the characters are introduced as the story goes on and even when moving to the next couple, it still includes the first so its as if the world of The Children of the Gods keeps expanding, and not just skipping from one to the next because I always want to know what's happening next with the previous stories in series like this. Next, while this is a fictional world, its also...

Disappointed with the flow, so many filler pages and the shortness of the book

Dark Enemy: Taken KU/bought 234 pgs *** 6/19/21 Dalhu & Amanda 3 stars for all of the filler pages and 16+ repeat pages from book 3. The books seem to get shorter and shorter as I read them. I enjoyed to story but it did drag in several places. The last half was the saving grace, you could say. Dalhu, a Doomer, was not what I anticipated, he was actually the complete opposite of what I thought he would be like. The abduction of Amanda was interesting as was the team sent to rescue her. Syssi’s...
