Edge of Oblivion: A Night Prowler Novel, Book 2

by J. T. Geissinger

About this book

Morgan Montgomery is a woman out of time, a disgraced Ikati shifter sentenced to death for a betrayal she refuses to explain. With her life hanging by a thread, she is granted a final, desperate shot at redemption: infiltrate the Rome headquarters of the Expurgari, the ancient enemy of her kind, and dismantle their reign of terror. She has exactly fourteen days to succeed or face her end, but the mission comes with a complication she never anticipated.

Tasked with overseeing her journey is Xander Luna, the Ikati’s most lethal assassin. Known for his brutal efficiency and stone-cold temperament, Xander is prepared to despise the traitor under his command. However, the chemistry between them is immediate and dangerous, sparking an enemies-to-lovers connection that defies their loyalties and threatens to unravel the very foundation of their tribe.

This dark, atmospheric paranormal romance is a masterclass in forbidden love. Blending historical intrigue with the high-stakes intensity of the shifter genre, the story weaves a lush, adult fairy tale that will leave you breathless. If you are looking for a gripping saga defined by found family, searing passion, and heart-pounding tension, this series is your next obsession.

Beautifully written fairy tail (for grown ups) that left me breathless :).

As much as i loved the first book, i loved this one even more. Which is first for me. I have never liked the second book more than the first. I have to admit, that after reading the first book, I had high expectations for the sequel. Not nessecaraly looking for something different. More like wanting for it to be at least as good as the first one. Because I thought that the writing style was qiute unique. One of the reasons I loved the first book was the brilliant writing, that had poetic sound...

Interesting, intelligent and exciting.

Edge of Oblivion is a paranormal-romance that's #2 of a series. I haven't read #1. The second is obviously a continuation of the first and you feel like you are being dropped into the middle of the story. The author relies heavily on the assumption that you've read the first, but tells you enough to set this one up if you're willing to just shrug your shoulders over the gaps of information and simply move on. It has romance, adventure, danger, and the usual gorgeous non-humans with super powers...

Even Better Then The First Book

If I had reviewed the first book in the Night Prowler series Shadows Edge,I would have given it 5 stars. This book, Edge of Oblivion, I would give 6 stars to if I could. It was just that good. The story was so imaginative when it came to the world of the Ikati that the reader will feel like they are a part of it. I won't go deep into the plot since several other reviewers have done so already. The romance between Morgan and Xander is the heart of the story and Rome is the setting. I have never...

book 2 in the series delivers adventure and some new answers.

Im rating this a 3.5 not quite a 4 In book one Morgan was left waiting in dungeon limbo as a traitor. So book 2 begins with Morgan being given one chance to save her life. Her mission is simple. She must travel to Rome and find the enemies hunting her people the Expugari. She must do it with Xander, an assassin following her around because she’s been given two weeks to find them or else he will kill her for her treason in book 1. But things take a complicated turn when Morgan and Xander run...

great book except for one glaring mistake

Ok so this is a serious Shifter book, not one of those sex crazed things. It is the second in what looks like being a really good series and well worth the read. The only problem I had with the book is the issue of wounded shifters not being able to shift. When this is introduced in the story it is just after a big fight between two opposing groups of shifters. The bad guys have all shifted back to human form and are just carrying on normally while the good guys are unable to shift back. This...
