Frost Burned: Mercy Thompson, Book 7

by Patricia Briggs

About this book

Life with the charismatic Alpha of the Tri-Cities werewolf pack, Adam Hauptman, has finally brought Mercy Thompson a sense of stability. As a stepmother to Adam’s daughter, Jesse, Mercy is learning to navigate the complexities of found-family and the intense weight of pack-dynamics. However, in the dangerous world of urban fantasy, peace is merely a fragile illusion waiting to be shattered by the next supernatural threat.

When a routine traffic accident leaves Mercy and Jesse isolated, they discover a terrifying reality: the entire pack has vanished. Through their deep, fated-mates connection, Mercy senses Adam’s blinding rage and agonizing pain, signaling that he and his wolves have been abducted. With the wolves’ political standing already precarious, their sudden disappearance threatens to ignite a volatile conflict that could destroy everything they have fought to build.

Outnumbered and facing enemies that operate in the shadows, Mercy must rely on her sharp instincts and a roster of unpredictable allies. This high-stakes installment delivers the perfect blend of shifter intrigue and heart-pounding action. If you crave a paranormal romance series where the stakes are always personal and the mayhem is relentless, join Mercy as she fights to rescue her pack and prove that even the smallest coyote can bite back.

Mercy's Back and Mayhem Still Seems to Follow Her

March 11, 2013

Patricia Briggs can write the most down to earth, loveable and yet fascinating characters and put them into stories that begin with the most innocuous scenes, but then bam!!! It leaps into a ferocious do or die story where the heroines and heroes are so tested in action and emotion. Frost Burned is the seventh book in an Urban Fantasy series that must be read in order. My review does contain some series spoilers for those who haven't read the first six so keep that in mind if you choose to...

LOVE IT, LOVE IT, LOVE IT! Excellent series!

March 10, 2013

Well, if the review title didn't make it clear - I really do LOVE these books and highly recommend them! This author is very EASY TO READ - by that I mean that you don't have to dredge through too much info (some authors get crazy in the little details and descriptions) and though it is not \"dumbed down\" there aren't any times you don't feel as fully up-to-speed as the characters, the story seems to flow quickly like a good movie. HOLDS YOUR INTEREST ALL THE WAY. :-) ** It should be noted...

7 Books In and It's Still Exciting

September 30, 2025

It’s been over ten years since I last read the Mercy Thompson series, so naturally, I decided a re-read was in order. I’m so glad I did; it reminded me just how much I love this world and these characters. Frost Burned is the seventh installment in the series, following Mercy, a coyote shifter, and her husband Adam, the local werewolf Alpha, as they navigate their new mate bond while dealing with the usual highs and lows of supernatural politics. The story kicks off with a bang when Mercy and...

Awesome addition to the series!

***I have refrained from adding any spoilers to this review*** I love to read series, and the Mercy Thompson books are one of the best paranormal series out there. Patricia Briggs doesn’t disappoint with her new installment featuring our favorite coyote shifter. Briggs is an excellent writer, and her fast paced story, filled with danger and action, pulls you in from the very beginning. It feels like I have been waiting for the release of this book forever! I read Frost Burned in two days, and...

\"But the silver?\"

July 26, 2013

I actually thought that River Marked was the last book in the series, so when I found about this one, I was thrilled. I adore everything about the these books! The Good What's funny about Mercy is that in the beginning of the series, she knew werewolf decorum, but didn't follow it much at all because she's took stubborn to be considered a lowly coyote. Now that she's the Alpha's Mate, she quotes the \"rule book\" like she wrote it. Not necessarily to suit her, but because these are her wolves...
