Anthropologist Jillian Ramsay is on a mission that could change history. As technology threatens to expose the world’s best-kept secrets, the League for Interspecies Cooperation dispatches her to Mystic Bayou, a hidden Louisiana enclave where humans and paranormals coexist. Her goal is simple: document how this unique community maintains its harmony before the modern world comes knocking. However, the locals are fiercely protective of their privacy, and Jillian quickly realizes that getting answers is far more complicated than she anticipated.
Enter Bael Boone, the town’s brooding, hyper-protective sheriff. He is everything Jillian shouldn't want—stubborn, mysterious, and perpetually looming over her shoulder. As the quintessential grumpy-sunshine dynamic ignites, the tension between them becomes impossible to ignore. Bael is clearly hiding more than just a badge, and his intensity is as dangerous as it is magnetic.
If you are craving a paranormal romance that blends witty banter with a sizzling, supernatural slow-burn, this series opener is a perfect pick. Molly Harper crafts an enchanting world filled with humor, heart, and just the right amount of heat. Dive into the swampy, mystical charm of Mystic Bayou—just be prepared to lose your heart to a dragon.

While it wasn't as funny as some of her other books, it was full of witty banter. The characters were very interesting and fun. The storyline was unique, which is always nice. The main characters had good chemistry, even though there was a bumpy road to the romance, they had to maneuver through most of the book to get there. The mystery was well written and a little intense. I'm trying to not do spoilers. It's a very good read and I enjoyed all of it. You'll chuckle a lot and love the book....

This was a great start to a great series. It's fun and laugh out loud amusing throughout. The sexy time scenes seemed a little out of place. Like they could have been setup a little better. \"Wow that's a lot of rain. That's neat.\" Boom. Now they're naked. It took me a minute to realize that I hadn't skipped a page. That's really the only negative I have. I will say that I love dragon shifters and the true name thing is always cool. This however was the best true dragon name I've seen so far....

How to Date Your Dragon is the first book I read from Molly Harper. It is the first in a series about the unique residents of Mystic Bayou. Bael and Jillian are fascinating main characters. The secondary characters are well written and intriguing to make you want to learn more about them. I love to read about shifters, and the mythology surrounding them . Plus, there's a murder mystery and a romance which is well crafted. I can't wait to read the other books in this series. I highly recommend! )

This is a great first book in the series, the characters immediately get your attention and are likable from initial introduction. I did however feel this book was a little predictable and the jump from freniemies to much more was very abrupt. I am looking forward to reading the next book in the series. )
