With Hearts of Flame (Deluxe Limited Edition): A Dark Academia Romantasy Novel of Vampires and Dragons Featuring Stenciled Edges and Illustrated Endpapers (Bloodwing Academy, 4)
Briar Boleyn
by G.A. Aiken
Keita of the royal bloodline has spent her life perfecting the art of the masquerade. To the world, she is merely a soft-spoken, charming dragoness, a facade she uses to keep meddling suitors at bay. But her carefully constructed armor meets its match in Ragnar the Cunning, a barbarian warlord from the frozen Northlands who is unimpressed by her pedigree and entirely immune to her smiles. To him, Keita is nothing more than a vapid, useless distraction.
This sparks a delicious game of wits and warfare between two powerful shifters. Keita, insulted and intrigued, refuses to let any male dismiss her strength. While the urban fantasy setting is packed with the bloodthirsty action and high-stakes chaos fans of the series expect, the real battle happens between the sheets and across the battlefield. Their enemies-to-lovers dynamic is fueled by sharp-tongued banter and a dark, primal intensity that forces them both to reveal their true, lethal natures.
If you are looking for a paranormal romance that balances laugh-out-loud humor with raw, aggressive chemistry, this installment is a must-read. It is a chest-thumping, mead-hall-rocking tale that proves the most dangerous traps are the ones set by those who refuse to be tamed.

When I pick up a G.A. Aiken or Shelly Laurenston book, I know a few things about it even before I start to read. It'll make me laugh and it'll provide a decent story while doing so. If the book is under Laurenston's name, it'll be crass, bawdy fun...with some dismemberment tossed in for kicks. If it's Aiken, outlandish and hysterical familial one-upmanship that takes sibling rivalry and family squabbles to a whole other universe...with some dismemberment tossed in for kicks. There's a whole...

Did I mention that I loved this series? I love that each book doesn't just focus on those mentioned in previous books but they also keep telling the story of those we already met. Ragnar and Keita are wonderful characters and their story is unique but familiar as the others. We all know Keita as the sister that is a little loose with her sexual favors, to say the least but we find that she is so much more and her character is so much more complex. Ragnar wants to believe she is just so...

3.5-4 stars This was a pretty good story. I was a bit leery of both MCs but they seemed to work well together and it all worked out nicely in the end. Keita is a dragoness and the youngest daughter of the dragon Queen. Keita isn't a fighter like most of her siblings and gives everyone the idea that she's shallow, flighty and sleeps with tons of men. The image Keita portrays is mostly true but there is more depth to her that she doesn't allow others to see. Ragnar is a Lightning dragon from the...

This story, like the others before it, has all the ingredients that makes reading so enjoyable to me -- humor, non-stop action, fun character dialogue, lovable characters, unexpected plot twists, romance, good sex scenes, and writing that just flows. I do agree that it is a good idea to have read the previous books since there is a large cast of characters. Also, for those that are not familiar with this series, the language is explicit. The main romance leads in this story are Ragnar the...

She is Keita the Red Dragon of Despair and Death. Fire breather and daughter to Queen Rhionnon of the Southern Draqons. She is a free spirit, fiercely independent, more than just a little promiscuous and proud of it. A stunning beauty and to the world and even her family frivolous and not worthy of a second thought but she is more much much more. He is Lord Ragnor the Cunning. Leader of the Purple Lightening dragons of the Olgisson Horde. He is a handsome, no nonsense, adept warrior, mage and...
