Queen of Song and Souls: A Paranormal Romance (The Tairen Soul Book 4)

by C. L. Wilson

About this book

The Fading Lands are crumbling, and the fate of two worlds rests upon the shoulders of a king and his fey truemate. In this gripping fourth installment of the Tairen Soul series, the stakes have never been higher for Rain, the fierce Fey King, and Ellysetta, the woman whose soul is bonded to his own. As the malevolent forces of darkness tighten their grip, the couple must confront a terrifying reality: to save their people, they may be forced to wield a forbidden power that threatens to consume them both.

This epic saga masterfully blends high-stakes urban fantasy with an intense, soul-deep paranormal romance. Readers will find themselves swept away by the lush world-building and the agonizingly beautiful forbidden-love trope that defines the central connection between the leads. Their bond is tested by political betrayal, ancient prophecies, and the raw, dangerous magic of the Tairen.

Whether you crave sweeping battles or intimate, heart-wrenching declarations of devotion, this series delivers a masterclass in emotional resonance. It is a must-read for anyone seeking a complex, immersive narrative where the heat of the romance is matched only by the scale of the adventure. Prepare to be completely captivated by this unforgettable journey of light, shadow, and eternal sacrifice.

Magical! A Romance of the Soul! Worth 10 Stars!

February 21, 2026

I bought the whole series in paperback years ago and the series is still one of my Top 3 favorites of all time. If you're looking for a quick sweet & spicy read, you're vastly underestimating the series. It is a beautifully written, fantastic one-of-a-kind saga that just keeps getting better the more you read! Elegantly rich verbiage, well developed & enthralling characters, highly visual world-building. Relatable conflict, action, drama, tragedy, humor, and so much more! No glitches, no snark,...

Okay, this is the controversial one

November 23, 2009

It seems that the fourth book of the Tairen Soul series is the most controversial so far, from what I've heard in reviews such as these here on Amazon. I guess it falls to me, as someone who likes the books but recognizes their flaws, to explain it all. The pacing and overall plot seems to be the focus of most people's ire, so I'll start there. Well, it's a mix of good and bad. We do finally get some answers and closure to a few things, but we're left hanging in some other places. I'll outline...

Brilliant & Creatively Written!

January 18, 2013

Brilliant & Creatively Written! Just Wow! I am totally blown away. The series is brilliantly written with the world building and the dynasty of connections between the characters. This is one series that imagination and creativity of the plot exceeds any fantasy tale I have ever read. I found myself captivated from the very first book and towards the end of each book I couldn't wait to get to the next book to continue the flowing magical movie like visual of excitement the author's smooth...

Enjoyed!

As a whole this book remained a Five Star experience, however there were certain parts I was not so interested in/felt myself invested in; compared to how much the previous books had my full attention. In my opinion, the plot remained to evolve and progress, but at a slower pace than the previous installments. Which isn't a negative, just my own observation and opinion. I enjoyed the introduction and <i>\"side quest\"</i> with the Elves. I enjoyed the return of one of my favorite characters, he...

Awesome series

December 4, 2011

The Tairen Soul series is the most engrossing series I have read in recent years. \"Queen of Song and Souls\" is the final installment of the five-book series and I cannot recommend it highly enough. It is like a \"Lord of the Rings\" journey for people who also like to have some steamy romance in their fantasy adventures, but it is just as intense to read as Tolkien, in my opinion. There were nights when I couldn't put the books down, and others when I could barely bear to pick them up because...
