Silver & Blood: A Sexy Spellbinding Romantasy of Enchanted Forests, Hidden Powers, and Forbidden Attraction in a Magical Kingdom

by Jessie Mihalik

About this book

Riela never intended to become a hero, but when a lethal beast begins terrorizing her village, she is the only mage left to stand against the darkness. Armed with raw, untrained power and a desperate sense of duty, she plunges into the forbidden forest. Her mission takes a dangerous turn when she is blindsided by monsters, only to be rescued by Garrick, a scarred, enigmatic man radiating moonlit magic.

Awakening in a sprawling, magical castle, Riela discovers that her savior is far more than a simple mage. Garrick is a shifter bound by a century-long curse, his strength fading as his secrets deepen. As they are forced into proximity, the tension between them shifts from suspicion to an undeniable, fiery attraction. This dark, slow-burn romance masterfully blends the classic Beauty and the Beast aesthetic with a gritty, historical atmosphere that feels both timeless and fresh.

For fans of paranormal romance seeking a gripping, high-stakes read, this story offers the perfect escape. It is a tale of forbidden love, hidden identities, and the discovery of one’s own volatile potential. Prepare to be enchanted by a world where the line between monster and savior blurs under the weight of ancient magic and dangerous secrets.

Adult fairy tale vibes

I am a sucker for beauty and the beast retellings and this one does not disappoint. The bookworm who becomes independent and doesn't fit in with the group. The grumpy hidden away \"monster\" that doesn't think he deserves anything. Reading the dual POV and how they slowly start to open to each other and the trust that builds makes this story even better. I absolutely loved the lust to love and the yearning they have for each other. The animal side kick was a great asset to the story as well....

5+++ - Best of the Best This was phenomenal and an exceptional way to start my reading year! I have loved the author's Consortium Rebellion series for years, and I re-read it regularly. I expect I will do the same thing with this series, based on how much I loved this. I loved Riela and Garrick as well as the other core characters. There's playfulness and sarcasm and banter, which I always love. It was a perfect way to pull me through the early chapters as this magical world is being built. The...

i’ll read anything jessie mihalik puts out, and this is certainly no exception - it wasn’t the most original, groundbreaking romantasy, but it was a fun, enjoyable romp through some old favorite tropes, and it was done very well. i loved our main girl and the love interest toed the line between grumpy but kind - thank god. )

Not as enthralling as other Mihaliks

I really wanted to love this book but it wasn’t quite there for me. I am torn between it being the general attitudes of the H and h or a pervasive sense of dreamy disconnect that seemed to want to take over the whole thing when our h was too self sacrificing to say “my chest is hurting, let’s get out of dodge” or when she refused to sit down and face to face discuss her relationship concerns and rather sat in miserable silence-even when the H raised the subject! Sure, we’ve all done it, but the...
