Mercy is never boring!

Smoke Bitten is the 12th book in the Mercy Thompson series, a story about a coyote shifter who is married to an Alpha werewolf. Each book has a new series of problems and new bad guys to defeat and this one was no different. I love that we get such a nice mix of the paranormal creatures. Werewolves of course are at the heart of every book, but we often see vampires, fey, and other things as Merry and her pack try to keep the tri-states area safe. In this book we have a mysterious creature going...

During this trying time in the World right now facing CoVid-19 virus, I found a beautiful, peaceful and faithful friend to help me escape. In preparation for the newest book, one MUST start at the beginning (I’m a book devourer so I have to stretch things out to make them last and I always find something new every time I reread these old friends, also thank the Heavens for ebooks!) The story is so well written that even though I suspected she was weaving in a fairy tale, I wasn't sure what one until a chapter before she revealed it. The metaphor of self-hatred as a monster and the danger inherent in the goddess fantasy on real relationships was brilliantly explored. )

Not the best of the series in my humble opinion.

But it's fine, here comes under hill with some trouble. And Wulfe is stalking, nicely? All this while I'm ignoring the \"trouble \" between Mercy and Adam. Seems overdone at this point. Not saying they can't disagree or have rough patches, but short of death, they got it. Then bam, rogue werewolves. All right! Double trouble! Time for...

I really like it!!!!!!!!!!!

I almost did not purchase this because of some negative reviews. I was afraid that the series was turning bad like Laurell K Hamiltion has done to Anita Blake. Not to worry I thought it was a good story. I sometimes wish the hurt that the bad guys get was drawn out more but hey we can't have everything. I would give this 5 stars just for the fact that Patricia Briggs knows how to use you have another think coming. I never understand how you read people saying if you think blah you have another...
