With Hearts of Flame (Deluxe Limited Edition): A Dark Academia Romantasy Novel of Vampires and Dragons Featuring Stenciled Edges and Illustrated Endpapers (Bloodwing Academy, 4)
Briar Boleyn
by Ivy Asher
They thought they wiped out every last Syphon, but they made a fatal mistake. After witnessing the brutal slaughter of her kin, a lone survivor has spent years hiding in the shadows, waiting for the perfect moment to strike back. But when she is captured by Aeson Noctis, the ruthless son of a dragon king, her carefully constructed life of survival is shattered. Aeson intends to use her unique power as a pawn for his own gain, unaware that he has just invited a vengeance-fueled storm into the heart of his city.
This gripping series opener masterfully blends the high-stakes intensity of shifter lore with the seductive tension of dark romance. As the lines between predator and prey blur, the chemistry between the captor and his captive becomes as dangerous as the secrets they keep. It is a high-octane journey where trust is a liability and every touch could be a betrayal.
Prepare for a relentless, action-packed ride that refuses to let you go. This is a must-read for fans of paranormal romance who crave strong, unwavering heroines and morally grey heroes. Be warned: the explosive, trauma-inducing cliffhanger will leave you desperate for the next installment of this addictive saga.

WARNING! CLIFFHANGER! This is a 5/5 on the trauma scale as far as cliffhangers go- you will definitely want book two as soon as possible, but it’s not yet ready in April 2025, so consider yourself warned! In a flash, Ever’s life was irrevocably changed at the age of six, when her father, mother, and brothers were brutally murdered in front of her, and the lives of the Syphons were changed forever. Now she is a dragon without a dragon or magic, a situation which led to her being captured by evil...

This was a good start to a new series from Ms. Asher. I've enjoyed her books, and this one ended up on the list as well. The FMC was written well. Her character was always on point, never wavering. She was very likable. Sometimes, FMC characters are written in a way that you have to grow to love them. Ms. Asher always writes FMCs in a way that makes them strong, independent, funny, and the best part ... not annoying. The MMC is not on my list of likable so far. I hope he wins me over in the...

I picked up Spark of the Flames after seeing the Aurora Crate edition and being instantly intrigued — and I am so glad I did. This book was a wild, action-packed ride that kept me completely hooked from start to finish. The premise immediately grabbed me: dragons, vengeance, hidden identities, and a heroine on the run after witnessing the slaughter of her kind. Ever has been surviving under the radar, hunted by The Horde and determined to uncover the truth about what really happened to the...

Well holy heck! Not only have a found a new author; I’ve also found what is now one of my favorite reads of this year! I was sucked into this world from the very get go. Good lawd, the action and pacing had me in a tizzy throughout the whole book! The pacing of this book was absolutely phenomenal - it just never stopped and loved every heart pounding second of it. The flow of the plot was so good, you never felt like there was lull and I was connected the entire way through. The world building...

I absolutely loved the Sentinel series. I wasn't crazy about and didn't finish other things Ivy Asher wrote really. But this was sooo good. It's long, about 500 pages which I love. It's such a cool mix of fantasy and technology. It's clumped in the urban fantasy genre but I'm not sure that's where I would place it. I don't care because I like high/epic fantasy that takes place nowhere near a big city on earth. But if you're looking for a world similar to the sentinel series, this isn't it. The...
