Stalked by the Kraken: A Monster Romance

by Lillian Lark

About this book

Rose is a matchmaker at the Love Bathhouse, a sanctuary where the supernatural come to find their perfect partners. However, behind her professional facade, she is battling a crushing crisis of confidence. When a mysterious, brooding stranger arrives seeking a match, he presents a tempting proposition: he will provide the raw magic her bathhouse desperately needs, but only if he is matched with her. Rose knows the dangers of mixing business with pleasure, yet she cannot deny the intense, primal pull of the man standing before her.

He is an ancient creature of the deep, a kraken who has spent his existence hunting for more than just survival. From the moment he lays eyes on Rose, his dark, possessive instincts ignite. He does not care for her rules or her insistence on a limited three-night contract; he has claimed her, and he intends to keep her.

Lillian Lark delivers a masterclass in monster romance, blending historical sensibilities with the steamy, tentacled allure of the paranormal. This standalone tale is perfect for readers who crave high-stakes chemistry, deep emotional longing, and a touch of the forbidden. Dive into a world where desire is the primary element and surrender is the only option.

Fantastic Monster Romance with Compelling Characters, Steamy Love Scenes, and a Good Plot

March 24, 2023

This book had it all—monster romance, compelling characters that tugged at your heart, steamy love scenes that played to different kinks, a fun she wants him and he wants her but will they have the courage to say it plot, and an intriguing mystery subplot over the stolen artifact. I love it when a romance involves the inner journey each character has to take to find and claim love. Both characters had their emotional scars and baggage. Vulnerabilities they never wanted exposed. It created such...

I really enjoyed Lark's writing style here, great consent and sex-positivity

Stalked by the Kraken by Lillian Lark is a paranormal fantasy romance. The ebook version is 252 pages. We follow our two main characters with dual first-person points-of-view. Rose is a matchmaker for the Love Bathhouse, a safe and consensual space for sexual exploration where participants pay to play via spelled wards in the bathhouse siphoning a bit of the magic released during sex. She's been celibate for a while after a bad breakup, which isn't the best look for a matchmaker. After a week...

Release the Tantalizing Tentacles

What drew me to this book was the cover art and the kraken. This sure isn’t the horrifying Kraken of Clash of the Titans, but he sure is tall, dark and seductively brooding. The premise of a sex positive bathhouse for the paranormal community and a resident matchmaker was also intriguing. However, in terms of character development I much preferred Gideon/Kraken. Rose, the matchmaker, wobbled a lot in her overthinking her inner insecurities. The world created is interesting and some of the side...

A Kraken and a Witch Bond

March 12, 2023

*****Spoilers***** Gideon is a kraken and Rose a witch. In her, he's found his mate and she's scarred from a failed past relationship. Rose is a matchmaker and her family runs a business that provides rooms, private or public depending on proclivity, for its patrons to use at no cost and the magical energy from those sexual sessions is sold. Rose's family has been in this kind of business for a long time. Gideon is in town to purchase an artifact for a customer since he's a treasure hunter....

very cute

Stalking is usually very frowned upon by me but seeing as she was stalked by her own mate and she somehow knew instinctively that those eyes on her meant no harm and the fact that he adored and practically worshiped her with his very breath he took in the way he introduced himself and brought himself into her world kept me reading. I was curious about the tentacles but it wasn’t icky at all, somehow the author made them fun and spicy in a way that again kept me reading, this time to the end....
