With Hearts of Flame (Deluxe Limited Edition): A Dark Academia Romantasy Novel of Vampires and Dragons Featuring Stenciled Edges and Illustrated Endpapers (Bloodwing Academy, 4)
Briar Boleyn
by G. Bailey
Five years ago, she made the ultimate sacrifice by rejecting her five destined mates and vanishing into the shadows. As a rare and feared Nexus shifter, she carried a burden of darkness that threatened to consume everyone she touched. Now, her past has caught up with her. Dragged back to the remote pack territory, she is no longer a free woman but a prisoner of the men whose hearts she once shattered.
This gripping dark romance dives deep into the complexities of pack dynamics and the agony of second-chance love. Forced into proximity with the five lethal alphas she abandoned, she must navigate their cold resentment and raw, explosive chemistry. From the charming alpha Onyx to the dangerously unpredictable Finnegan, her captors are as powerful as they are unforgiving. Yet, as the tension mounts, the true danger lies within her; she is hiding a terrifying secret that could destroy their entire world.
Perfect for fans of slow-burn paranormal tales, this story weaves a web of found-family loyalty, simmering angst, and high-stakes survival. As the line between hatred and obsession blurs, she must decide if protecting them is worth losing her soul—or if the monster inside will finally claim them all.

I love this series! Ok, yes, as others have mentioned the premise is very similar to the Bonds that Tie series by J Bree, but I don't feel its a copy. The rejected mates (and reason for the rejected) and gifted individuals and reverse harem are the similarities. The worlds are very different and the \"Bad Guys\" are different. Gwen, the FMC in this series, and Oli, the FMC in J Bree's series are different as well. I love both series, and I think if you loved J Bree's you'll love this one as...

The story is interesting and kept my attention. Spice level 1 out of five if that. The whole book is one of those “I can’t tell them why I am hurting them because the world will end!” And, of course, if she just told them, everything would be fine. I absolutely hate that trope, but I still enjoyed the book and finished it. Hopefully she will actually connect with instead of fight with her mates in the next books! ) 5 people found this helpful

Starlight Mates is pure fire from start to finish! G. Bailey knows how to crank up the heat with an intoxicating mix of sizzling chemistry, fierce passion, and steamy tension that had me hooked right away. The connection between the mates is electric—every glance, every touch practically ignites the pages. The blend of sci-fi adventure with a raw, no-holds-barred romance makes this one impossible to put down. The passion is intense, with scenes that are both sexy and emotionally charged, giving...

It’s one one of those cliche books that doesn’t firmly give our leads a clear backstory and set of abilities so that nothing is shocking when they do it later. The problem is that it makes the world building vague and uninteresting. There are some established elements to this world but not enough that it feels satisfying. Once the plot got moving the book was good. Interesting, if not a bit random at first. It’s hard to say where fluff ends and the plot starts, but it wasn’t the most painful...
