Steel's Edge (A Novel of the Edge Book 4)

by Ilona Andrews

About this book

Charlotte de Ney is a blueblood aristocrat who has traded the rigid, magical hierarchy of the Weird for the rugged freedom of the Edge. A gifted healer seeking to leave her painful past behind, she wants nothing more than a quiet life. That peace is shattered when Richard Mar, a lethal swordsman and future patriarch of a boisterous shifter clan, arrives on her doorstep bloodied and desperate.

What begins as a reluctant professional arrangement quickly ignites into a high-stakes alliance. As Richard hunts a ruthless slaver ring operating across the border, he pulls Charlotte into a shadow war that threatens everything she has fought to build. Forced to rely on one another, they navigate a dangerous dance of lethal combat and simmering tension that pushes their growing feelings to the brink.

This final installment in the series is a masterclass in paranormal romance, perfectly balancing world-building with intense character development. It leans heavily into the enemies-to-lovers trope, fueled by sharp banter and undeniable chemistry. Between the found-family dynamics of the Mar clan and the high-octane suspense, this story delivers a satisfying, heart-pounding conclusion. If you crave a gritty, magical adventure where love is the fiercest weapon of all, this is your next obsession.

Awesome Ending to a Wonderful Series (I will miss it) - 5 stars!

November 28, 2012

This last book in \"The Edge\" series was, in a word, wonderful. Five stars no doubt. Very well written, exciting plot, romantic and just plain excellent. As usual when it comes to this series and these authors, I read the book in one sitting. I thought the book was just as good as the three that came before it and yet was truly different in its own right. I loved how so many loose ends from the arc of the total series were tied up dramatically at the end, and yet fit into the tight plot of...

Everything I've been needing from Richard...

December 2, 2012

Although I have made numerous attempts to become a beta reader for these two I keep getting thwarted at every turn so while I wish I could start out this review by saying, \"I was provided with an ARC copy for an honest review,\" alas I can't say that. But I can say that I bought this book the day it came out and I have been waiting anxiously (note I did not say patiently) for eons and eons (does 364 days count as \"eons and eons\"?) This is the last book in this series although I strongly...

Genuinely Fun Read- But I Had A Few Issues

December 2, 2012

I may have a vague spoiler or two in here but I'll keep it vague and I'll mark it. This was a genuinely fun read- absolutely worth your time and money. I think the Andrews writing team is pretty spectacular, even their so-so books are way above average, so my \"issues\" may have been personal preferences and may not detract from your own reading enjoyment. The good: The plot was pretty busy. They had a lot of action but the book takes its time to fully introduce the main characters, their...

Great book, but sad this is the end...

June 30, 2013

I read a few reviews before purchasing this book, and was expecting something that did not meet the level of the previous Edge novels. I was extremely surprised, and happy, that this was not true! If you have not read the previous Edge novels, I suggest you do, as a lot of previous characters take part in this story. It makes the series all the more enjoyable as each novel focuses on a different set of characters, yet brings back old favorites so you can see what is going on with old friends....

Farwell to a Favorite

January 15, 2013

Of all the authors I've read in the past and currently follow, none surpass the sheer brilliance that is Ilona Andrews. The work put out by this literary duo is pure gold -- it's almost like they have novel-writing superpowers or something. Without exaggeration, this series is awesome. For one thing, there's my girly side thrilled by a successful blending of fantasy and romance -- something I've often searched for and rarely found. Then there's the flashes of humor that always came flying in...
