With Hearts of Flame (Deluxe Limited Edition): A Dark Academia Romantasy Novel of Vampires and Dragons Featuring Stenciled Edges and Illustrated Endpapers (Bloodwing Academy, 4)

by Jaymin Snow
Exiled for being a shifter who could not shift, Elara returns to the pack that once cast her aside, only to find herself trapped in the orbit of the man who broke her. Darius Moonvale, the ruthless Alpha heir and her own stepbrother, is the one who sealed her fate years ago. Now, in a twist of cruel irony, he is her boss, and he is determined to claim the fated mate he once rejected.
This high-stakes paranormal romance masterfully blends the agony of a rejected mate storyline with the suffocating tension of forced proximity. As Elara struggles to keep her distance, the chemistry between them ignites when her dormant wolf finally awakens, demanding the very man who once called her weak. Darius has traded his cold indifference for a possessive, dark obsession, willing to endure brutal violence and challenge the pack’s rigid laws to protect her.
Fans of enemies-to-lovers stories will be captivated by this slow-burn journey of power, secrets, and redemption. Jaymin Snow delivers a gripping start to the Fierce Alpha series, where pack dynamics shift, old wounds bleed, and the line between hatred and all-consuming devotion becomes dangerously thin. If you crave intense shifter romance, this is your next obsession.

This was my first book by this author. I really enjoyed it. I'm so glad I happened upon an excerpt of it that hooked me right away. The hero is so gone for her, but other factors make him hesitant to claim her. This is a fated mates, wolf shifter romance. Their love is a touch taboo. There is a betrayal and a grovel (but not over the top). The hero is definitely J/P. The spice was good too. I did feel like the end was rushed. I wanted more. And I'm not sure if the lingering loose plot threads...

I throughly enjoyed this and couldn't put it down, a good start to a new series. Well-written story full of action, with fated mates, chemistry, love, romance, rejection, secrets, twists and great character development. I highly recommend! I received a free copy of this book via Booksprout and am voluntarily leaving a review. )

Great suspense, but it would have been nice to see more happy ending for other characters in the story! Like the girl who lost her mate, could have been a hybrid and when Damien changes the law he comes back to be with her! )

Hooked from beginning to end. I could even overlook some questions that I don’t recall being answered, like how did violet’s mom meet and get into a relationship with Darius’s dad? What happened during Violet’s time in Europe? Aren’t there packs who supported Darius’s dad and were anti hybrids too? WTH happened to Zion??? That man needs to be stopped in the most brutal way possible. Anyway i could overlook those questions never being answered because of the satisfying way the story unraveled....

I liked that this story did not have inconsistencies that is common in other shifter romance stories. It is well-balanced and well-written. No sub plots to distract us from the live story. No inflated villainous acts that are ridiculous. Just undiluted love story with a side of family dynamics. The hero truly loved the heroine but his weakness was lack of decisiveness. The heroine is strong and innocent and loving. It was her who rejected the hero because she had to stand up for herself. But...
