The Cursed King: Inferno Rising, Book 4

by Abigail Owen

About this book

After five centuries of brutal imprisonment, Airk Azdajah, the rightful King of the White Clan, is a broken man. Cursed by the tyrant High King Pytheios, Airk is trapped in a cage of agony, unable to shift into his dragon form without risking his own destruction. He is a king without a throne and a dragon without wings, convinced that death is the only mercy left.

Angelika Amon is the last unmated phoenix, but she carries a devastating secret: she is completely powerless. While her sisters have found their destinies alongside powerful dragon kings, Angelika feels like a useless runt in the escalating war against their parents’ killer. Desperate to contribute to the fight, she proposes a strategic, loveless alliance with Airk to gain political leverage. But when the villainous Pytheios targets Angelika, their fragile arrangement is thrust into the fires of a lethal conflict.

This high-stakes paranormal romance serves as the breathtaking finale to the Inferno Rising series. Blending a tense academy-style atmosphere with a deeply moving found-family dynamic, Abigail Owen delivers a masterpiece of royal intrigue and shifter passion. It is the perfect conclusion for readers seeking a story where broken souls rise to reclaim their crowns and their hearts.

A fantastic end to the series

October 25, 2021

This book and the entire Inferno Rising series is a life, love, and death affirming masterpiece encompassed in a beautifully crafted paranormal romance. The Cursed King has a little bit of everything - sweet moments, fan your face steam, dangerous excitement, tragic pasts, cut throat and loyal supernatural creatures, strong family ties, nail biting fight and chase scenes, and even some chuckles, all set against the backdrop of the continuing war between dragon clans. Airk and Angelika’s love...

A Nice Ending To A Great Story!

July 24, 2025

This was a great ending to the story! I gave it 3.5 stars though because I felt the conflict between the 2 main characters was a little too much whiplash for me. The author did a great job of wrapping up this storyline and paying tribute to all of the characters. ) One person found this helpful

my review for Cursed king and the series Inferno rising

March 14, 2025

Wow, what a finale! Cursed King was everything I hoped for and more—a breathtaking, emotional, and utterly perfect conclusion to the Inferno Rising series. Abigail Owen delivered romance, action, heartache, and triumph in the most spectacular way! Angelika Amon, our bold and determined heroine, has always felt like the odd one out. While her phoenix sisters wield incredible powers, she’s a dormant phoenix, seemingly without abilities of her own. But that doesn’t stop her from wanting to fight...

An emotionally epic ending to the Rotting King Pytheios reign

October 25, 2021

Rating: 5 stars Steam: 3 flames Genre: Dragon Shifters / PNR ***** And then there was one remaining unmated phoenix left. Angelika… can she tame the broken, feral dragon shifter, Arik? Oh. My. Goodness! This book was everything I had been waiting for since I first picked up The Rogue King and watched as each phoenix had found it’s true mate… and the battle for the true High King raged on. Now it is Angelika’s turn, but what will happen to the last unmated phoenix that has none of the special...

Great conclusion to the series

October 25, 2021

This is the 4th and final book in the Inferno rising series, and while each book can be read as a standalone to get the most out of the series I would recommend reading the entire series in order. I loved the romance between Angelika and Arik.. There was so much chemistry and a whole lotta angst as Arik refuses to let himself feel anything for Angelika. So when they finally get together its so satisfying. Almost from the very first page its action packed, but everything ramps up even more the...
