This is my first Kass O'Shire book and it won't be my last. For something with high stakes and traumatic experiences, this still managed to be cozy and oh so sweet. Yes, there's spice, but the story and relationship are the driving factors. The spice is just the icing on top. 100% would fall in love with Aegir. )

Another fantastic installment in Kass OโShireโs Shades of Sanctuary universe. While this book stands alone, the narrator is Sirin from Book 1, A Polar Expedition, which features more worldbuilding and introduces the series' unique storytelling style, like footnotes. While I find the footnotes spark a lot of joy, OโShireโs author notes make it clear that if theyโre not your thing, you can skip them without missing essential information.
