With Hearts of Flame (Deluxe Limited Edition): A Dark Academia Romantasy Novel of Vampires and Dragons Featuring Stenciled Edges and Illustrated Endpapers (Bloodwing Academy, 4)
Briar Boleyn
by Shelly Laurenston
Stieg Engstrom is the Viking Clan’s most irritable warrior, a man who prefers order, silence, and definitely not the company of a chaotic Crow. But when the world faces total annihilation, he is forced into an uneasy alliance with Erin Amsel. Erin is everything Stieg finds infuriating: loud, mischievous, and perpetually amused by his intense grumpiness. Their dynamic is a volatile collision of personality and power, setting the stage for a high-stakes mission where the fate of humanity rests on two people who would rather argue than save the day.
This final installment of the Call of Crows trilogy is a masterclass in urban fantasy, blending bone-crunching action with laugh-out-loud humor. Shelly Laurenston excels at crafting a found-family atmosphere where even the most dangerous shifters are defined by their fierce, unconventional loyalty to one another. As their forced proximity shifts from bickering to undeniable chemistry, the tension becomes as addictive as the explosive battle sequences.
If you crave paranormal romance that refuses to take itself too seriously, this is your next obsession. It is a wild, adrenaline-fueled ride that perfectly balances pack dynamics with a screwball romance that is as heartwarming as it is hilarious.

Okay, so I'll admit that I didn't like Erin much at all in The Unleashing. I mean, she wasn't just mean, she was a straight up beyotch and only because Kera was forgiving and not the type to hold a grudge was Erin let off from the vast amount of shiz she pulled. That being said, I adored Erin in The Unyielding. Her spunk, intelligence, ability to start a whole lot of sh...yeah, she just really fit into her everything in this story. She suddenly made sense to me in a way I didn't like before. It...

I know everyone is getting tired of me raving about Shelly Laurenston, but tough, she is awesome. I love her writing and I love this book. Erin has been a favorite of mine since she stared terrorizing Kera in The Unleashing. Erin is annoying, aggravating, and awesome. Anyone who can drive someone crazy in under a minute, how great is that? And to pair her with Stieg - still better yet. Throw in a goat - crazy, fast-paced story ahead. The set-up is that Ragnarök is coming and Erin is the only...

Even with all the graphically described violence these book are great. During the first in this series I was not sure about it because it is quite a bit different from the author’s other series but I have now read them all and have grown to totally enjoy them. The combination of action, humor, romance and myth based fantasy results in a novel worth diving into. )

What can I say that hasn't already been said by all those 5 star's review's, that I so 100% agree with. Modern day Explosive, laugh out loud, psychotic un-put-downable (want to be a crow), not for the faint of heart, what with all the gorey smelly tearing off of body parts, Dragon's, crazy ass, think they're better then everyone else (which just makes them delusional) God's, Shifters, witches, demon spawn's from hell, a mean nasty squirrel & a goat, then last but not least, a Crow & a Raven,...

I received an ARC of this book from the Publisher, via Netgalley, this does not affect my opinion of this book or the content of my review. Erin “Fire Hands” Amsel is a bit of a dick, ok, not just a little bit, but a real dick. She messes with people because she can, She’s A.D.D. extreme with a snarky attitude and a puckish sense of humor, and I ADORE her like the sun!. Of course being that we share a name, I was predisposed to favor her, but I have enjoyed her offbeat worldview from the start...
