About this book

Tana thinks her life is mundane, until she realizes the heavy oak partition guarding her apartment is doing much more than keeping the neighbors out. When a mysterious, handsome stranger begins appearing in her dreams, claiming to be the physical manifestation of her own front door, Tana is forced to accept that her reality is far stranger than she ever imagined. He is obsessed, he is protective, and he is determined to keep her safe from a very real, very human predator lurking in the shadows outside her home.

This paranormal romance pushes the boundaries of the shifter genre, diving headfirst into the bizarre and the unexpected. It is a wild, unconventional ride that blends suspense with the ultimate "object" romance trope. If you are looking for a story that defies every standard convention, this is the ultimate palate cleanser for your bookshelf.

Expect a fast-paced, kinky, and unapologetically ridiculous experience that doesn't waste time on complex world-building. It is short, punchy, and perfect for readers who want to embrace the weirder side of romance fiction. Step inside, lock the bolt, and prepare for a supernatural encounter that will change how you look at your entryway forever.

Fun, Ridiculous, and Kinky

This book took less than an hour to read. It’s short and cute and has very little backstory. Our main characters are Tana and “Door Boy”. We find out how we’ve stumbled into the mind of a sentient door and his backstory is basically explained away in two paragraphs. Tana gets absolutely no backstory and we are just left knowing she is female and her daily habits. We never find out if she has a job, family, past…. We only know what the door knows, accept it. The story is basically all written in...

“ I have no name but yours, Tana. I am your faithful guardian and protector, nothing more, nothing less. I am your door, and I love you. “ - Drys Tana, who is our FMC, is plagued by an inappropriate apartment manager with a fatal attraction. Unknowingly to Tana, a secret protector hangs on the hinges with a hard knob just for her. Drys, the sentient door, learns he is the son of Zeus. Basically, Zeus did the deed with a tree and therefore created him. For one night, he is given permission to...

Knock, Knock

4/5 This was wildly different from what I normally read, but I ended up enjoying it a lot. At first, the premise felt a little absurd, romance with a door isn’t exactly standard territory, but once the mythological angle kicked in, it all made a surprising kind of sense. The novella format kept things quick, and the story was told clearly without wasting time. The erotic content was definitely shocking at first, but that’s part of the charm. It hooks you with the absurdity, then shifts into a...

You go in expecting just a fun story but there is a lot of plot and character background

So far every book I have read by this author I always end up with the same thought, 'for such a ridiculous plot in such an extremely short book, this was so well written.' This one even more so because the back story of the main character just... we didn't need it but we got it and damn was it both hilarious and GOOD. This author is an instant read for me, which for the moment is an issue because she has so many books for me to work my way through. This was funny, it was well written, it was a...

Are authors okay? Are the readers?

Yes, it’s the door book. Why is there a door book? I’ve no idea but here we are. The first chapter opens from the door’s point of view. The opening line, “As a door, I didn’t know when I fell in love with Tana, only that I most assuredly was.”, hardly prepares you for what is to follow. Admittedly, the story is well written, if odd given that it’s from the point of view of a door. The FMC is well described through its point of view. The avenue the door is given to becoming a real boy is...
