Until the World Falls Down: A Dark Fantasy Romance of Love, Betrayal, and Self-Acceptance in the Face of Eternal Temptation and Dangerous Choices

by Jordan Lynde

About this book

A desperate wish in the wake of a brutal betrayal has consequences far more perilous than Nell ever imagined. When she recklessly barters for love, she is whisked away by Enver, a wickedly beautiful immortal who traps her within the shifting, treacherous walls of his timeless castle. To earn her freedom, Nell must navigate a lethal labyrinth in under forty-eight hours, or forfeit her soul to remain his prisoner—and lover—for all eternity.

This seductive debut is a must-read for fans of dark shifter romance and enemies-to-lovers tension. Blending the nostalgic, atmospheric magic of Labyrinth with a modern, high-heat edge, the story masterfully explores the thin line between salvation and ruin. As Nell fights to survive, she finds herself drawn to the very monster who holds her captive, discovering that the castle’s secrets are inextricably linked to her own hidden past.

If you are looking for your next obsession, look no further than this gripping tale of dangerous choices and forbidden desire. With a new shadow daddy to rival the best in the genre, this spellbinding journey is as emotionally profound as it is intensely spicy. Will Nell succumb to the temptation of her captor, or will she find the strength to break the curse?

best book I’ve ever read

December 8, 2024

It was amazing!!! So it starts off kind of abrupt and idk just clunky idk how else to describe it but push past the first bit, it quickly gets sooooo good. For the most part the writing is smooth but there are random parts here and there that just kind of feel rushed or a bit clunky again but it’s just short scenes and I feel like it’s probably because the author was trying to not have it be too long since it’s already a pretty long book. But even with the few weird spots the story is simply...

Move over Xaden Riorson, there’s a new shadow daddy in town 🖤

⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ 🌶️🌶️🌶️🌶️ “Every breath I take would be for you. Every inch of my being would belong to you. I could be your sanctuary and your undoing. I would give you everything you ever wished for. Follow your every word. Obey your every command. There is nothing I would deny you. Nothing, my little lover—as long as you are mine.” Move over Xaden Riorson, there’s a new shadow daddy in town 🖤 After betrayal leaves Nell heartbroken and desperate, she goes out looking to forget her troubles. Her...

Inspired by Labyrinth - but Wholly its Own Story

January 13, 2026

Have you ever watched Labyrinth and thought, \"I would like my own personal Jareth, please?\" Well, you are in luck as this book is inspired by that very thing - but darker with spice that will require a cold shower after reading. Nell's growth after essentially being a people-pleasing doormat for her ex was amazing. The trials she went through, learning about herself and helping others was a lovely journey. She still has much to learn and I hope to see that growth continued in the next book....

Cool take on retelling but dragged

July 10, 2025

I genuinely enjoyed this book and I read the whole thing in like 2 days. There were a few plot points and twists that I didn’t see coming which is pretty hard to accomplish in a retelling, so props to the author for that. Plus the spice was 5 stars, chef’s kiss, SO good. However I really feel like this book should’ve been 400 pages, not 544. The FMC has so much repetitive internal monologue and introspective dialogue with the MMC about why she feels the way she feels that I was rolling my eyes...

An absolute dream ✨

A five-star, new favorite! This book...I have no words. I mean, I obviously have words, but they’re all about the perfection of this book. I've been a fan of Jordan Lynde's writing since high school, when she was publishing her stories on Wattpad, and finding her account again on Instagram was a true delight. Imagine my excitement when I discovered that her new book, Until the World Falls Down, was being published just a couple of weeks later! I knew I had to add it to my TBR, and I'm so glad I...
