We Hunt the Night: The Bloodstone Academy, Book 1

by G. Bailey

About this book

Juniper vowed to use her magic for good, but Bloodstone Academy demands something far more dangerous. As a witch destined to join the front lines of a brutal war, she enters the academy with one goal: survival. Instead, she finds herself at the center of an impossible, forbidden phenomenon. When she accidentally bonds with not one, but four powerful dragon shifters, she becomes a target of curiosity and contempt.

Mazikeen, Kane, Black, and Valeron are the last of their kind, treated like deities within the academy walls. They never wanted a mate, and they certainly do not want a witch. Trapped in a tense forced-proximity dynamic, Juniper must navigate their resentment and their devastating allure. These four gods are determined to break her, but the ancient, fated-mates bond between them is a tether that neither magic nor hatred can sever.

If you crave a dark, high-stakes paranormal romance, this story delivers an addictive blend of enemies-to-lovers tension and academy intrigue. Amidst the gothic halls and the looming shadow of war, Juniper must learn that while the bond might be a curse, it is also her only hope for survival. Will she tame the dragons, or will they burn her world to the ground?

Juniper is a witch without a home until she gets into Blood stone Academy and bonds with the four last dragon shifters in existence. Juniper is kind and strong of mind. She has an inexplicable bond with these dragons even tho they are mean to her. She has to do whatever it takes to create a strong bond with them in order to fight and win the war. Only there's so much she doesn't know and dreams she's trying to uncover that tell her nothing is at it seems. This is a slow burn (only kissing)...

Concept was good and it was mostly enjoyable but I think the story could have been written better. I'd love for the author to revisit this later down the line as their writing grows. Further into the story, it seemed like the story they were building was too much for their skill level. Some parts were just a bit juvenile ) 9 people found this helpful

Dragon Riders and that twist.

This book was soooo good I devoured it in one sitting. The world building? Immaculate. G. Bailey drops you straight into a dark, captivating realm filled with danger, magic, and—best of all—hot male dragon shifters that will absolutely ruin you for anyone else. As a why choose romantasy, it nails the chemistry and tension between the characters while still giving you enough plot to keep you completely hooked. And that twist? I did not see it coming. At all. I literally had to sit there for a...

Excellent book!

His has been a great read. I like the twist at the end. I figured they had their memories removed but not that last detail. I would, however, seek a new editor or have them triple/quadruple check as there are a couple spelling and grammatical errors towards the beginning to mid of the book. The last one I saw was 'wad' when the sentence should have 'was'. )

it’s ok, basic read. great story, but not great delivery

I love the story concept but the story went too fast. The author should pull the book and work on developing the story more to help the readers be more engaged. I don’t feel a strong connection to the FMC or the relationships she has to the other girls, the love interests need more slow burn, teasing, and bullying, and there needs to be more buildup of suspense so the big reveal hits stronger. So instead of blowing past weeks at the beginning, spend time in the story so the reader can get more...
