Whispers of Eden

by Robin Cardoon

About this book

Valerie’s perfect life shatters the moment a state-mandated ceremony brands her an ovinag, a creature deemed a dangerous menace to society. With assassins closing in and her execution date looming, she makes a desperate leap through a portal to Eden, a hidden planet teeming with legendary monsters. What begins as a frantic bid for survival quickly evolves into an immersive urban fantasy adventure where the rules of reality are constantly rewritten.

On this untamed world, Valerie encounters a powerful shifter who is as mysterious as he is lethal. Their connection is a slow-burn battle of wills, perfectly capturing the tension of an enemies-to-lovers dynamic. As they navigate the shifting landscapes of Eden, their initial hostility gives way to an undeniable, high-stakes attraction. But their bond is tested by the shadows of her past that refuse to stay behind, threatening the very sanctuary she sought to claim.

For readers who crave a paranormal romance with depth, this story delivers a unique fusion of science fiction and shifter lore. With a capable, relatable heroine and a world-building style that feels both expansive and intimate, it is an emotionally resonant journey. Can Valerie trust her protector, or will her presence ignite a fire that consumes them both?

A dragon romance with just a hint of science fiction. The FMC is smart, capable, and relatable. The story flows nicely and had emotionally moving characters moments. I shed some tears, laughed out loud, and enjoyed reading this novel. Look forward to reading more from this author in the future. )

Review of an advanced readers copy. 3.75 stars I see so much potential! The magic system and world is so different and I enjoyed that! There was a good mix of action, communication and the slightest touch of romance. For me I had a hard time believing the relationship of the MMC and FMC. I can’t put my finger on it but it felt like something was missing. )
