White Hot Kiss: The Dark Elements – A Captivating Enemies to Lovers YA Paranormal Romance

by Jennifer L. Armentrout

About this book

Seventeen-year-old Layla Shaw is an outcast living between two worlds. As a rare hybrid of a gargoyle and a demon, she possesses lethal abilities that make her a danger to everyone she touches. While she desperately craves a normal life and the affection of Zayne, the handsome Warden who views her only as a sister, her very existence is defined by a curse: one kiss from her can drain the soul of any creature she loves.

Everything changes when she crosses paths with Roth, a dangerously alluring demon who holds the key to her hidden past. Caught in a classic enemies-to-lovers dynamic, Layla finds herself drawn to the one person who doesn't fear her touch. As she navigates the high-stakes world of an elite academy for supernatural guardians, she must decide between the safety of her upbringing and the magnetic pull of her natural enemy.

This urban fantasy masterpiece masterfully blends heart-pounding action with addictive romantic tension. As a looming demon uprising threatens to destroy humanity, Layla must confront the truth about her heritage. If you are looking for a pulse-pounding paranormal romance filled with sharp wit and undeniable chemistry, this trilogy opener is an absolute must-read.

Is there anything JLA can't write??

November 25, 2014

Originally posted on my blog: Tangled Up In Books I have so many feelings right now it's incredible. How does Jennifer L. Armentrout do this to me every single time? Gargoyles, demons, aliens, humans it doesn't matter what she writes about. She has this knack for making me fall in love with her stories and her characters. Completely. I was hooked from the novella, Bitter Sweet Love, but coming into this one I fell so much deeper for this world she's created and I didn't even think it was...

Gargoyle Love

May 11, 2014

I loved this book! I was immediately hooked from the beginning. The main character's voice was easy to connect with, and I really liked her. Layla is a half-gargoyle, half-demon young woman living with the Wardens. They've adopted her, treating her like their own. But she's not just a gargoyle. She has demon blood in her, something that she can't come to terms with, something she's been told to suppress. Layla just wants to be normal, to be able to shift, to kiss her crush without stealing his...

Gargoyles? NOT what you're thinking! Sexy book, can't wait for more.

White Hot Kiss by Jennifer L. Armentrout Steph's Rating: 5 stars Dani's Rating: 5 stars Overall: 5 stars Review: WOW. I whizzed through this book over the course of a few hours, and I can't say enough that I love, love, LOVE this book! White Hot Kiss is your standard witty JLA book, and while some people might get tired of her formula-like writing, I personally love the versatile equation she came up with and I know her book will not disappoint, every time. This is a fantastic series debut for...

Demon and Gargoyles! Oh my!

March 13, 2014

Just when I think Jennifer couldn’t surprise me anymore, well, she goes and does it! Swipes me off my feet and takes me into an amazing world. And this world was filled with a demon that stole my heart, gargoyles that captured my attention, and a story line I just feel in love with. It’s Jennifer’s writing style that just sinks its fingers into me and captures my attention. She flawlessly creates a unique world filled with some not so unique creatures and just waves her writing wand and BAM!...

exciting and fun!

I loved White Hot Kiss! It is my first paranormal series by the author, as I’ve only ever read her J Lynn contemporary novels so far. I thought the world was incredibly unique and refreshing to the YA paranormal romance genre. I immediately felt for Layla and her predicament. As a half demon with soul sucking abilities, she couldn’t get as close as kissing distance to anything with a soul. Which sucked, considering she was part of Warden family and all of them had souls. Fortunately, only the...
