Bound and Unbound: A paranormal novella duology

by J.K. Jeffrey
The kingdom is fracturing, and Percy Flores has become the ultimate pawn in a lethal game of shadows. Torn from the side of her beloved Selene Borealis, Percy finds herself ensnared in the dangerous political machinations of those desperate to exploit her newfound bloodline. As she uncovers long-buried secrets, she realizes that truth is a deadly currency, and every revelation paints a larger target on her back.
Meanwhile, Selene faces an agonizing ultimatum: ascend the throne she was born to rule or abandon her legacy for the woman who owns her soul. As betrayal permeates the court and war looms on the horizon, their fated-mates bond is tested to its breaking point. In this dark paranormal romance, love becomes a battlefield where the stakes are life, death, and the survival of a crumbling empire.
J.K. Jeffrey delivers a masterclass in slow-burn tension, weaving a complex reverse-harem dynamic into a world of vampires and witches. Perfect for fans of high-stakes fantasy, this installment pushes the boundaries of desire and duty. When the smoke finally clears, Selene must decide if she will save her kingdom or burn it all down to save the one heart she cannot survive without.

Read this entirely way too fast knowing I have to give our amazing author time to write the next installment of Selene and Percy’s story. Loved book four. Many questions answered and new questions leave you ready for book five. I enjoyed the different POVs and character development even for the secondary characters that make you want to punch them on Percy’s behalf. The shifting political landscapes of the Borealis Kingdom and the characters new and old leave you guessing who can be claimed as...

I was so excited to read this book. As soon as it was available, I devoured it. It was hard for me to see Percy and Selene separated. The author had made me long for both of them to be together in the way that they both long for it. Even though they were apart, I liked seeing more of the kingdom other than the academy and Ardens. I loved being able to learn more about Percy’s past/origins. I enjoyed seeing other characters’ POVs. Seeing what’s really in their hearts. Wanting to punch the ones...

This was a good read. It has all the elements of a phenomenal story, such as conflict, compelling characters, action-packed, and a good plot. The last line and the circumstances surrounding it are wicked. Ooo wee! Happy Reading Family )

The series as a whole is excellent. And this was a pleasant addition with a story of twits and turns equal to the suspense leading up to it. My only complaint is that we didn’t get a last Selene and Percy love scene, or get a telling other last night together. This book in the series had far too little Selene/Percy scenes for me but I understand that it was true to this part of the story. I just hope it’s made up in the next one. Also I can’t stand Dylan but I guess that is just a testament to...

Oh my goodness. I feel so spoiled that a second Soul Match book came out within a year. This book was so good and so upsetting at the same time like only a good book with characters you truly care about can be. I am disappointed that Percy is still so naive and innocent about certain things. Like it's ok for Selene to commit heinous acts in her name, but her or her friends snuffing out a truly reprehensible character will stain all of their souls forever. Ugh. Anyway, wish there was more time...
