Telepathic cocktail waitress Sookie Stackhouse is trading the humid swamps of Bon Temps for the high-stakes world of international politics. When she accompanies her vampire lover, Bill Compton, to a high-level summit in Rhodes, she expects a tense environment, but nothing prepares her for the carnage that unfolds. As a human delegate among the undead elite, Sookie finds herself trapped in a crumbling hotel where the vampire hierarchy is on the brink of collapse.
This installment is a masterclass in urban fantasy, blending sharp wit with the perilous allure of the preternatural. As the layers of vampire society peel away, Sookie must navigate a labyrinth of betrayals, shifting alliances, and a looming threat that aims to wipe out the vampire leadership entirely. It is a thrilling departure from her usual small-town mysteries, testing her true mettle in a world where humans are often just collateral damage.
For fans of paranormal romance, this story delivers the perfect cocktail of danger and desire. The tension of the ever-present love triangle continues to simmer, even amidst the chaos of a massacre. If you are looking for a series that balances dark, supernatural thrills with a relatable, resilient heroine, prepare to be hooked by this essential chapter in Sookie’s journey.

As a big fan of Charlaine Harris', I eagerly anticipated book 7 of the Southern Vampire Mysteries. Did it progress the series? yes Did you see the true metal of the characters? yes. Was it a lot of fun? no. This book's actions are more serious than other books. The reader should know that Hurricane Katrina devastated vampire New Orleans as well - and there are actions at the end of book 6 that need to be addressed. That a summit of leaders was going to do some serious work. Enter Sookie...

After having suffered a serious broken heart over the vampire-whom-we-shall-not-name, Sookie now has a new love in her life - Quinn, the very...

In terms of action, book 7 in the Sookie series doesn't disappoint. It revolves around a vamp conference in Rhodes, taking place at a doomed vampire hotel. It's absolutely chock full of adventure and tension. I'm zooming through the series and this one pulled me in. So, Sookie is compelled by the queen, Sophie-Anne, to attend the conference in her entourage, promising Sookie a big payday for her telepathic services. Sookie doesn't disappoint, but Sophie-Anne seems to. I found several elements...

\"All together dead\" is the best Sookie novel so far. The novel's first chapters are lighthearted and comical, dealing with a wedding shower and Sookie's preparations for her travel to Rhodes, where the vampire summit will be held. Little or nothing happens in these chapters, but it's fun to see Sookie's friends and neighbors and the humor keeps the narrative going. This is in stark contrast to the rapid-fire first chapters of \"Definitely dead\", where the characters were introduced but the...
