Archangel's Light (Guild Hunter Book 14)

by Nalini Singh

About this book

For centuries, the bond between Illium and Aodhan has been the heartbeat of the Guild Hunter series. Closer than brothers and inseparable in battle, these two immortal warriors have weathered unimaginable trauma together. Yet, as Aodhan finally begins to heal from the darkness that once shattered his soul, the very foundation of their friendship faces its greatest test. As they navigate the dangerous, scarred landscape of China, they must confront a truth they have long buried: the fine line between a lifelong brotherhood and a love that has been five hundred years in the making.

This installment is a masterclass in the paranormal romance genre, moving away from the high-octane physical intensity of previous books to focus on a deeply emotional, nuanced slow-burn. It perfectly executes the fan-favorite tropes of friends-to-lovers and hurt/comfort, weaving a tapestry of vulnerability that is as devastating as it is beautiful. For readers who crave complex character development and soul-deep connections, this story offers a profound exploration of what it means to truly be seen by another.

Nalini Singh delivers a poignant, tender journey toward intimacy that proves that the most epic romances are the ones built on decades of unwavering devotion. It is a must-read for any fan of the series, promising a heart-wrenching yet triumphant resolution for two of the most beloved characters in modern fantasy.

A Love Story for the Ages

October 26, 2021

It’s not a secret that I’ve been hoping for this book for a good number of years. And trying not to hope at the same time – so I wouldn’t be let down if it didn’t go the way that I was sure it was meant to go. So many small moments throughout the books, so many intimacies that are had, remarked upon by other characters, and that occur as just everyday, normal moments between Illium and Aodhan fed the fire that burned in my heart for this pair. But I sheltered that fire. Protecting myself from...

A very sweet, very nuanced love story...

I really liked it. P.S. I've now read some other reviews and they have mentioned the love story is very different, much less sexual than Elena/Rafael, Dimitri/Honor, Nassir/Andi, etc. The reviewers are right, the romance is much different. Perhaps Ms. Singh has never written a romance featuring same sex lovers. Perhaps, because this series' audience is likely mostly women, Ms. Singh didn't know how her audience would react to a same sex couple, so she avoided sex scenes and focused on the...

Illium and Aodhan heart mirrors forever!

4.5 Blue and Sparkle stars Archangel's Light is a beautiful and heartbreaking story about Illium and Aodhan from the beginning to now. It's filled with so much love and encompasses so much of their lives it's difficult to encapsulate all that goes on in a pithy one-liner. Illium and Aodhan have been friends for 500 years, since they were wee babes. We follow the yesterdays and todays concurrently to get our full story, but this is just a primer of the beginning of the epic Illium and Aodhan...

I adored this story!

Illium and Aodhan. Aodhan and Illium. These two have been inseparable since they were old enough to make friends. After 500 years of friendship, sorrow, trauma, heartbreak, and healing, these two are finally seeing old wounds heal to fading scars, and the experience has left them changed and estranged. Now, when it seems most apparent their centuries-long friendship is about to end, Illium must travel to distant lands to support Aodhan as he serves as the temporary right hand of a brand new...

We're starting a whole new world!

Oh, Nalini, I love you and I'm so proud of how brave you are. I wanted this for so many years now, and I was scared because I didn't know if I was going to have it, but we did, because of you. Ilinium and Aodhan, Aodhan and Ilinium. There's no other way around it, this two are an always, there are not more true words than those. (I loved it when Aodhan said it) I've read this book twice already, and it's the type of book, that whenever you finished it the first time, you're like, okay it was...
