Bound and Unbound: A paranormal novella duology

by Rebecca Kenney
Daisy Finnegan just wanted a carefree summer to recover from a toxic breakup, but her plans shatter when her cousin vanishes at an exclusive, decadent party. The host is none other than Jay Gatsby, a mysterious recluse and Daisy’s long-lost childhood sweetheart. He is wealthier, more dangerous, and more sinfully magnetic than ever, pulling her back into a web of obsession that feels impossible to escape.
This high-stakes paranormal romance reimagines the classic tragedy through a dark, vampiric lens. When a violent encounter leaves Gatsby shot through the heart—only for him to walk away unscathed—Daisy uncovers the chilling truth behind his rapid rise to power. He has built his empire by peddling the secret of immortality, a discovery that has turned him into a target for those who would kill for eternal life.
Blending classic literary inspiration with a modern, spicy edge, this story is a must-read for fans of second-chance romance and vampire lore. As Daisy discovers her own volatile powers, she faces an agonizing choice: succumb to the man who claims her body and soul, or join the hunters determined to destroy him. In this world of gilded monsters, love is the deadliest gamble of all.

Daisy and Jay. A spicy take on The Great Gatsby with a fun & modern vampiric twist. I always love a Rebecca Kenney title, so it’s not a surprise that her first traditionally published title was a ballpark knockout for me. Easily five stars. A fun and fast paced romantasy that will give Gatsby and vampire fans alike a little thrill. Rebecca is a retelling queen, who has a fun and spicy take for every tale, and this one was incredible. ) !Image 138: A spicy take on The Great Gatsby with a fun and...

I have the Kobo version of this book and that's how I read this one. As always, my honest thoughts and opinions are directly below. ––––––––––––––––––––––––––––––––––––––– This book is a re-imagining of “The Great Gatsby” with Daisy as our narrator. The book is in her POV and has Jay returning to her life as a vampire, though she doesn't find this out right away. The mystery surrounds how he gets his money for the lifestyle he has with his mentor. ––––––––––––––––––––––––––––––––––––––– I...

I’m still trying to figure out who the real villain was in Beautiful Villain—because it definitely wasn’t Jay Gatsby. This reimagining took me by surprise in the best way. Since this is the first book in a series, I decided to read it before diving into the ARC I received from the author, and I’m glad I did. The concept of taking classic literature and weaving it into a paranormal setting is just genius. The author did an incredible job blending the familiar with something entirely new and...
