This the first book in the series. Luka has been hiding in a mountain crypt for fifty years. A storm brings Claire into his chapel. Claire helps Luka into living life. Luka desires her, and realizes that he has not been living. This is my first time coming across this writer's work. First of all, I want to mention the care she has taken to produce an error free book. I loved it just because of it, but then the story began to develop and then the writer's handling of the theme drew me in and I lost all connection with reality. Both heroes are broken souls but the delicacy she uses to introduce one to the other is heart warming. She Claire) is not aware of her grave danger, he (Luka) wants to protect her from himself....

That was a pretty good story. I really enjoy stories with true love and romance and this comes close. I'm glad this isn't a slow burn romance. I look forward to reading book two. )
