Court of Death: A Courts and Kings Standalone

by K.A. Knight

About this book

I am not just a hunter of the night; I am the thing that makes the shadows tremble. Driven by a desperate vow to save someone I love, I struck a bargain with Death himself. I believed I could outmaneuver a god, but I was wrong. From the moment our paths crossed, Mors was determined to claim me as his own. Now, I am trapped in a realm where life is a fleeting memory and every shadow whispers of mortality.

This gripping paranormal romance pulls you into a high-stakes game of survival where the lines between hunter and prey blur. You will navigate a dark, atmospheric world where a powerful, brooding deity clashes with a woman harboring lethal secrets of her own. It is a volatile dance of power, desire, and destiny, perfect for readers who crave intense tension and a darker edge to their vampire lore.

When a god meets a mistake, the fallout is catastrophic. Neither of us will back down, and in the Court of Death, mercy is a foreign concept. As our deal unravels, one of us will lose everything. If you are looking for an addictive, heart-pounding escape, welcome to the end of all things.

Amazing!

December 2, 2023

I was completely enthralled by this book. K.A Knight just knows how to create an amazing story with incredible characters that I wish I knew in real life. Avea and Mors made my heart burst. I love that Death got his own story and his own HEA. I loved how open and honest they both were with each other and were just themselves. The first time Mors brought Avea with him to help the souls crossover; I felt like that was such an important scene. He wanted her to know him and understand him. Also the...

This series has a TON of promise!

Before Court of Nightmares, I’d only read DoV (and to this day am still obsessed with it). I adored CoN, so I was super pumped when it was announced that Death’s book was next. I was so gone for him it’s not even funny. Avea was a phenomenal heroine, and I loved the high heat, interesting plot, and seeing her come into her power. I docked a star because the whirlwind of battles that happen near the end within a few chapters felt a little scattered and disjointed. It wasn’t enough to take me out...

Just. Wow

I’ve had this and CoN on my TBR for a few months and was afraid to delve in due to my absolute love of DoV. I didn’t want to love another of her books more. Not loved more than DoV but still, Just. Wow. Avea reminded me a lot of myself. Feeling alone, out of place, not welcome anywhere growing up. Not knowing where she came from and who she really was. I think that’s why I was able to really connect with her character. And then to watch her grow, not just become powerful but f e e l powerful,...

Good editors are important

I have enjoyed every Knight book I've read, and this one was no different, with the sweetest beauty and the beast vibes and gods being humbled. I even teared up there - you'll know when you get to that scene. I mean who doesn't want to see death find the love of his life. But she STILL needs a better editing and beta team. Every single book either has repeated or contradicting things that are so glaring I don't know how they were missed. It's frustrating cause when I insist friends need to read...

An amazing read!

I can't stress how amazing this book truly is! I almost made a huge mistake when I thought I wouldn't care for the predictable hades and persephone type plot and ALMOST didn't buy it. This book has so many unpredictable surprises, great characters, incredible plot, and lots of spicey scenes. I think I cried 3 or 4 times from the sheer force of emotion I could feel when reading the characters' thoughts and words of everlasting love. If you're a fan of fantasy with a lot of spicey scenes,...
