Dead Ever After: A Sookie Stackhouse Novel, Book 13

by Charlaine Harris

About this book

The long-running saga of Sookie Stackhouse reaches its final, heart-wrenching conclusion in a story that tests the limits of loyalty and love. After thirteen years of navigating the dangerous, supernatural underbelly of Bon Temps, Sookie finds herself in the most precarious position of her life: charged with a murder she did not commit. As a telepath caught between the worlds of humans and vampires, she must rely on her sharp instincts to clear her name while the town she calls home turns against her.

This definitive installment of the urban fantasy series masterfully weaves high-stakes mystery with the emotional fallout of Sookie’s complex relationships. Tensions boil over as her bond with Eric Northman faces an ultimate trial, sparked by a selfless act that leaves their future hanging in the balance. For fans who have followed Sookie through every supernatural encounter, this is the final chapter that demands closure.

Blending paranormal romance with gritty suspense, the narrative explores the weight of choices and the reality of living in a world where magic is both a gift and a curse. Whether or not you agree with the controversial ending, it is an essential read for anyone invested in this iconic series.

Aussie bookworm Review

June 10, 2013

I was terrified to read this story because of the bad reviews that I have read. I didn't understand why everyone was hating it because I tried to stay away from spoilers. I have loved this series since I started reading them seven years ago, since then they have become my favourite series by far, I hate seeing it end but I don't believe it could have ended any better, I don't want to give away any spoilers So this is going to be hard to Review, I will have Spoilers from earlier books. Sookies...

Another one going against the tide...

I read literally hundreds of books each year, but this is the first review I have ever written. This is because I think written word can mean and be interpreted differently by different people. This is an important part of why reading and good story writing is so important. I did, in this case, feel compelled to defend this book, this series and this author. I have loved this series. For those whom felt there was no foreshadowing, I believe they were only \"hearing\" what they wanted to...

A satisfying conclusion

Summary: Sookie Stackhouse used her wish to save Sam Merlotte's life. Unhappy with Sookie's decision, Eric stormed out, now at a loss for how to keep him and her together. When Sookie's is accused of murder, things get more and more confusing for the telepath. Will she ever live happily ever after? Review: I will admit I have a different perspective from other readers. For one, I dislike the show. I struggled through season 1 and then stopped after the first two episodes of season 2. Also, I...

Just \"meh\"

***SPOILERS ALERT*** I have been a longtime fan of the Sookie Stackhouse series, so it was with much reservation that I decided NOT to buy the final book in the series, \"Dead Ever After\" when it was released in May 2013. I did not pre-order so it wasn't waiting for me when I got home from work. I began reading reviews first before I made my purchase because I'd heard a lot of negative things about the final book. After reading hundreds of negative reviews, along with detailed spoilers, I...

****SPOILER**** ***GIVE THE BOOK A CHANCE! *** A work of fiction is about the story an author creates and writes, and as a reader you get transported into another world and journey. If you're reading a story and experience a god complex about the storyline or characters there are 3 solutions: 1) Become a writer, or even a fanfic writer. 2) Realize that becoming so engrossed and passionate about a book is a good thing, the writer was obviously a good job to get you so hooked. 3) Continue reading...
