Bound and Unbound: A paranormal novella duology
Ali Hazelwood
by Charlaine Harris
Life in Bon Temps is rarely quiet, but for telepathic cocktail waitress Sookie Stackhouse, a trip to New Orleans promises a rare break from the local supernatural drama. Following the mysterious death of her cousin, Hadley, Sookie heads to the Big Easy to settle an inheritance. However, she quickly discovers that Hadleyβs life was far more complicated than she imagined, and peeling back the layers of her cousinβs past puts a target squarely on her own back.
This sixth installment of the Southern Vampire series leans into the urban fantasy genre with a blend of mystery and mounting danger. While the narrative takes a more intimate, domestic turn early on, it remains packed with the witty dialogue and eccentric characters that fans of the series adore. As Sookie navigates a treacherous web of vamps, were-creatures, and hidden agendas, the tension ratchets up, leading to a heart-pounding conclusion that proves why this series remains a staple of paranormal romance.
Whether you are a longtime devotee or seeking a new supernatural obsession, this entry offers a compelling mix of Southern charm and dark, bite-sized thrills. Sookie is as feisty as ever, proving once again that she is more than capable of handling whatever the undead throw her way.

I love the Southern Vampire series so much. I have enjoyed every last book - to the hilt - and this one was no exception. What I love is how the books are heartwarming, heartbreaking, poignant, funny, suspenseful, romantic...all at once. The characters are amazingly well drawn and Sookie's evolution from book to book as she gains confidence, experience, and some hard knocks is so fascinating. That alone makes this installment worthwhile. Sookie is definitely a bit snappish throughout the book,...

This books switches focus at the beginning and shines on the domestic side of Sookie, to get us grounded again in a bit of the personal everyday side of life. In this book, Sookie begins dating Quinn, the Were Tiger, which at the end of the story, results in the cover art. Sookie this time after some disallusionment with Bill, decides that she will pace herself with the romance, and...
