Death is an relentless shadow, and for one woman, it is closing in faster than ever before. With her past shrouded in fractured memories and her future hanging by a thread, she realizes that running is no longer an option. To survive, she must forge an uneasy alliance with four devastatingly handsome, dangerous men who are far from human. They are vampires—embodiments of sin and power—and she is forced to place her life directly into their lethal hands.
This debut paranormal romance launches the Ascension Rising series, delivering a gripping narrative that blends high-stakes mystery with a complex reverse-harem dynamic. Readers looking for a slow-burn journey will be captivated by the tension between the heroine and her five potential protectors. While the chemistry simmers, the real draw is a plot that refuses to sacrifice depth for romance, ensuring that every interaction is charged with both vulnerability and peril.
As she navigates a world of shadows and secrets, the question is not just whether she can outrun her inevitable end, but whether she can keep her heart intact while surrounded by such volatility. This is a must-read for those who love stories where the stakes are life-or-death and the romance is anything but simple.

This is such a good book, especially being a debut novel by a first-time author. This book reads like it was written by an advanced, more experienced author, which tells you a lot about the author's love of her work and talent for writing. I had the best time reading this book. It's described as a slow burn, but I think slow burn is a bit of an exaggeration. Other than a few blushing moments on Aaliyah's part and a few pretty clean fantasies by the guys, there weren't any steamy scenes to be...

It's a tad on the slow side and there's a lot of heat but no fire. Overall a good book though. The storyline kept me going and I want to read the second book. )

WOWWW. I'm going to start off by saying how HARD it is to write a genuinely good RH book because the author has to find a way to cram in multiple love interests without taking away from the plot. This book/series was the PERFECT slow-burn pace with a truly intriguing story. The world-building and magic system is unique, and the characters are absolutely delicious. Usually, in RH series, I have a favorite (don't we all?). BUT I CAN NOT PICK A FAVORITE FROM THESE MEN! They all treat Aaliyah like...

Very well written, something I don’t see as often anymore. Plot was fresh. Mystery galore. Also, she did a great job of making each character distinct; male leads in RH books sometimes blend together and that bugs me, but that’s was absolutely not the case here. Main F lead was not TSTL, she had a lot of inner strength. I also really appreciate that the trauma she experienced is not immediately fixed by the guys; if I could pick a pet peeve that would be it and it was SO refreshing to read a...

I will admit, I really struggled to get into this book because it has such a different pacing than what I am used to. But after I did get into it, I have found myself mentally slamming my head against the wall because im super invested in the characters and I want them to figure out what seems obvious to me as im reading all the different povs. If you're into slow burn, this is definitely something you'll enjoy. The yearning is the slowest buildup that it almost sneaks up on you. )
