Our story begins with a suspicious crime scene that our FMC is called to by an ardent, love/lustsick detective who has been unsuccessfully trying to connect with the CI hematologist. This is apparently to first show the human side to our FMC . Ninety percent of the book revolves around a literal underground culture of vampires and demons. But what makes this intriguing is the behavior and attitudes of this vampire society. Very little is textbook trope rendering. The society fled to underground...

It’s more than a spicy romance! It seems a little slow paced at times , but builds up into a great series. Love how we get to really know all the characters, not just a couple. Can’t wait to see where this all goes! ) 2 people found this helpful

I kept seeing sponsored ads on Facebook for this series- ones that mentioned 'if you loved JR Ward, you'll love this' (or something along those lines.) I thought to myself that I should give it a shot after having read the synopsis for the first book. I didn't immediately purchase though - by the time I wanted to read it, I ended up forgetting who the author was. Took me about 25 minutes of searching before I found the author's name (since I hadn't marked it in anyway. kicking myself for that)....
