Bound and Unbound: A paranormal novella duology
Ali Hazelwood
by Kim Harrison
Rachel Morgan is back, and the stakes for the Cincinnati witch have never been higher. Having traded the safety of the Inderland Security Service for a precarious life as a freelance bounty hunter, she finds herself navigating a treacherous underworld where the lines between hero and villain are dangerously blurred. When a series of mysterious vampire murders puts her own life and that of her roommate, Ivy Tamwood, in the crosshairs, Rachel must confront a powerful vampire master who is as lethal as he is seductive.
This addictive urban fantasy masterfully blends gritty supernatural action with the slow-burn tension of forced-proximity. As Rachel digs deeper into the dark secrets of the night, she is forced to rely on those she shouldn't trust, creating a high-stakes dynamic that keeps the reader guessing. The folklore-rich world-building provides a perfect backdrop for the complex, often questionable characters that inhabit these pages.
If you are craving a paranormal series that balances sharp wit, intense combat, and a touch of forbidden chemistry, this is your next obsession. Rachel is a flawed, fiercely independent protagonist who refuses to be tamed, making this a must-read for fans of dark, atmospheric storytelling that refuses to play by the rules.

This urban fantasy series is quickly becoming one of my guilty pleasures. The world created by Kim Harrison is filled with constant battles between the good, evil and questionable characters that switch sides when convenient, and action packed scenarios interwoven with some wonderfully witty humor. This is second in the series and it continues where \"Dead Witch Walking\" leaves off. This books never looses momentum and it's the first fantasy book I read where the heroine prepares for combat in...

Summary It's a tough life for witch Rachel Morgan, sexy, independent bounty hunter, prowling the darkest shadows of downtown Cincinnati for criminal creatures of the night. She can handle the leather-clad vamps and even tangle with a cunning demon or two. But a serial killer who feeds on the experts in the most dangerous kind of black magic is definitely pushing the limits. Confronting an ancient, implacable evil is more than just child's play--and this time, Rachel will be lucky to escape with...

I am a fan of the paranormal and I have been fans of Stephen King and Anne Rice, who wrote under pen names and only the true fans knew until they were outted. Stephen used a pen name to answer the question of \"If I was not me would the masses still think I could write?\" This book is like the raw beginning work of these authors. Kim Harrison is finding her way by giving us background and necessary details in order to understand what is going on, what happened before and what is yet to come....

This was such a fun audiobook! Years ago, I read the first several books in this series but never went any further for some reason. I meant to but I guess I got distracted by other shiny books or something. Since I knew I need a refresher before moving on with the series, I thought that a re-read would be a perfect choice. I am almost positive that I liked it even better this time around. This book starts with a bang. Rachel and Jenks are in the middle of a run....and things don't go as...
