The Primal of Blood and Bone: Blood and Ash, Book 6

by Jennifer L. Armentrout

About this book

The stakes have never been higher for Poppy and Casteel as the boundaries between the mortal and divine realms shatter. Following the harrowing events of the previous installments, the awakening of ancient, slumbering powers has set the stage for a cataclysmic confrontation. With the Great Conspirator back in the mortal realm and the true Primal of Death looming as an existential threat, Poppy must grapple with the devastating consequences of her own existence. As the gods emerge from the shadows, their hidden agendas threaten to unravel the fragile peace she has bled to protect.

This installment deepens the series' signature blend of high-stakes paranormal romance, pushing the boundaries of the established lore. Fans of the genre will find the familiar slow-burn tension that defines the central relationships, though the narrative takes a darker, more complex turn as the characters navigate a landscape defined by blood-soaked secrets and shifting loyalties. The historical resonance of the ancient gods adds a layer of mythic weight to the journey, forcing the protagonists to confront the ghosts of the past to survive an uncertain future.

While the path is fraught with betrayal and internal conflict, the bond between the main characters remains the heart of this sprawling epic. Readers who crave immersive world-building and intense, character-driven drama will be captivated by the evolving dynamics. Regardless of the trials they face, the fight for the crown is only the beginning of a war that will test the limits of love, divinity, and sacrifice. The realm is unbalanced, and only by embracing their true nature can they hope to stop the destruction of everything they hold dear.

Another Masterpiece from Jennifer L Armentrout

NOT SPOILER FREE If you haven't finished Primal and don't want spoilers, don't read on. I didn't think I could hate Kolis more. Boy, was I wrong. The father into the book I go the more that hate grows. I look forward to his death. Starting with Poppy being in stasis for like ever, we see the love Cas has for her. Even to the point of almost obsession which made me nervous...like hello Kolis... At least I don't think that is happening but there is definitely something going on with Cas. The...

The Primal of Blood and Bone is Book #6 in the Blood and Ash series. This is truly a series with a continuing storyline, so please do not try to start with this book. It’s easy to get a little confused even with reading the books release order, so you have no chance otherwise (seriously I need to re-read to create a summary). The Blood and Ash series is also tightly connected to the Flesh and Fire series, so I would recommend reading in the order the books are released for both series. This...

Very sad to say

Spoilers..... I am a huge fan of the storyline but this book was very disappointing, there was no reason to make Cas the way he was, there was no reason to cut Keiran out of the majority of the book, there was no reason for the entire plot to be depressing AF. The relationship that had formed was beautiful, this book destroyed it, there was more sex than actually speaking to each other, the relationships were so sullied that wasn't even enjoyable. Why would Poppy ever let Keiran be ignored and...

I loved this book! I’ve seen a lot getting bored or not finishing this. For me this wasn’t the case. I will say this does start slow. Not a lot changes or happens until around chapter 12. From there things do pick up and continue to do so. Cas was a bit different but, he was also his yummy, smart mouthed, fun self as things moved along. Cas and Kieran also had issues in this book and while I did find that frustrating and it did change the vibe of these characters some, I understood by the end....
