Bound and Unbound: A paranormal novella duology

Sola Morte has successfully traded her life as a high-stakes cat burglar for a quiet existence, desperate to keep her grandmother safe and her past buried. Yet, her heart remains tethered to Assail, a dangerous arms dealer whose world is far darker than she ever imagined. As a powerful vampire struggling with his own lethal secrets, Assail never intended to fall for a human, but their connection is an undeniable force of nature that defies the boundaries of their separate worlds.
When a grave injury leaves Assail hovering between life and death, his desperate family calls upon Sola to be the tether that pulls him back from the abyss. Forced to return to the treacherous landscape of Caldwell, she is thrust into the center of a brutal war against a creeping, ancient enemy. The lines between predator and prey blur as the truth of Assail’s vampiric nature comes to light, leaving Sola to decide if she will flee the horror or embrace a love that transcends mortality.
This gripping installment of the long-running Black Dagger Brotherhood series masterfully blends urban fantasy with the high-stakes passion of enemies-to-lovers and second-chance romance. It is a must-read for fans of found-family dynamics and intense, fated-mate narratives. If you crave a paranormal romance that balances pulse-pounding action with deep, soul-searing devotion, this story of a thief and her vampire king will leave you breathless.

\"Destiny was such a thief.\" FINAL DECISION: Loved, loved this one and would have been a 5 star but the resolution was just a bit too quick for me. I've been anticipating Sola and Assail's story for years and this one did not disappoint. Plus V and Jane tossed in, new threats and some advancement of the overarching storylines. THE STORY: Sola Morte, was a thief until an attempt on her life led to her promise to leave Caldwell and make a new and honest life. Hiding in Miami with her dear...

The Thief by J.R. Ward is a really good book! I really enjoyed reading about Assail and Sola, and all the other characters, especially Jane and Vishous. In this book we find out there is another new danger in Caldwell, that has nothing to do with The Lessening Society. However someone has taken something from the Sanctuary, that is going to be able to wreak havoc on everyone. A series of events happen that are surprising, however Vishous figures out why his bullets can kill the \"shadows\", the...

I've been on the fence about what to write in this review for hours now! I love, love, love the BDB series! I was so excited for this book! All in all it was a good read and a nice little taste of the BDB world we all miss so much between books, with a few exceptions..... I was disappointed that there were basically little-no appearances by any characters aside from the main four. (Assail/Sola, V/Jane) Especially following The Chosen where almost everyone in the BDB world is involved. None of...

I enjoyed this book tremendously. Even though it's # 16 in the series, there are still exciting twists and turns happening. The main characters are still involved in the story, as well as new ones being added in. I enjoy how the books seem to seamlessly blend into one another. It's like a great movie that never ends. I would definitely recommend these books to anyone who loves vampires, action, friendship, and family. With spice and humor mixed in. )

Sola and her grandmother relocated to Miami to stay safe from a drug lord and his family. Giving up her life as a thief has proven difficult but keeping her grandmother safe is of the highest priority. Assail has fallen in love with a human woman but knows they can never have a life together. She doesn’t know he’s a vampire or a drug addict for that matter. Assail falls into a coma and seems to be on the edge of death when his cousins decide that Sola is the only one who can bring him back. The...
