Wrathful Mortals: Age of Vampires, Book 4

by Caroline Peckham

About this book

The gods have turned the world into a blood-soaked chessboard, and Callie and Montana are merely the latest pawns in a divine game of suffering. Bound by the cruel mark of the gods, Callie finds her free will shackled to her mortal enemy, forcing her to navigate a treacherous path where salvation feels like a distant fantasy. Meanwhile, Montana struggles with the haunting pull of the monster she left behind, even as she desperately chases a freedom that seems destined to slip through her fingers.

This is not a story of sparkling heroes or midnight strolls. As the fourth installment in this dark paranormal romance series, it doubles down on the savage, bloodthirsty nature of vampires who hunt without mercy and slayers who kill without hesitation. With the tension of a slow-burn romance colliding with the high-stakes danger of an academy-style power struggle, the narrative traps readers in a relentless cycle of angst and adrenaline.

Expect a brutal, war-torn landscape where enemies-to-lovers dynamics are forged in violence and second-chance desires are tested by shifting loyalties. If you are craving a gritty, high-octane read that refuses to play nice, this series offers the perfect descent into darkness. Just be prepared for the infamous cliffhangers that have made this saga a must-read for fans of twisted, high-stakes fantasy.

Oh these twisted sisters..

.. and their cliffhangers! They leave me ravenous for more yet always leave me full of angst with their notorious cliffhangers! Eagerly awaiting the next book in this remade series. The characters feel real. The storyline sucks you in. The alpha-hole men make you want to scream in frustration and moan with need from page to page. Those nasty, petty little gods! I hope they get their just desserts! These authors are very talented, but kind of evil. The worlds & characters they create are amazing...

love it…mostly

If you have read the previous Age of Vampires books, just know that book4 is every bit as good as all the rest. Even so, in all honesty, the plot twist at the end is so predictable, it was kind of disappointing. In addition to that, i feel like it’s starting to get a little cliche (based on the plot twist at the end), considering literally almost every other vampire series has literally the exact same scene/event. Which, don’t get me wrong, that’s fine, because it was honestly bound to happen,...

Couldn't put down, the drama continues with the MCs and the deathly fights begin

Wrathful Mortals KU, $6.99, 371 pgs ****.* 4/22/24 Erik, Montana, Julius, Magnar, Callie & Fabian 4.5 stars. The two Gods, Idun and Andvari continued their cruel games with our MC’s forcing marriage and false connections to create more hate between them. Callie and Montana were kept away from Eric and Fabian, but their god created vows kept them all in turmoil. Callie continued her dream visions even with Fabian to try to find out who he really was before the curse of Andvari turned him into a...

Half and Broken

What a way for the two sisters to be in a situation that they would be in where they are in opposite directions. How the Gods played havoc with their lives and not in a good way either. Eric, a Vampire who has a black soul that shines through with specks of gold that has love for Montana so deep as the ocean that he would do anything for her. And Magnar loves Callie, but his hate for the vampires overshadows his heart so much that he can’t see how it will cost him until it’s too late or is it?...

Loved the first 3, this one was mid

The first 3 books were amazing, all 5⭐️ reads for me. The one felt a lot like a filler book. The plot was really dead for most of the book. It was a lot of historical back story about Magnar and Erik’s rivalry. A lot was revealed, like the true extent of the Gods involvement, many pieces of the prophecy fell into place, and I think the book finally ended in a place where the two sides might team up against the Gods. But jeez it was just… uneventful in the present. Mostly the slayers hiding....
