Gwynedd Crowther thought her biggest challenges were surviving menopause and finishing graduate school after thirty years. A grieving widow working a dead-end insurance job, she is simply trying to keep her head above water in the sleepy town of Bearsden, Delaware. But when a series of unsettling, supernatural phenomena collide with the arrival of a mysterious, younger professor, Gwynedd realizes her mundane life is a fragile facade hiding a dangerous, ancestral destiny she never saw coming.
As she navigates a newfound world of magic and ancient prophecy, Gwynedd finds herself drawn into a dark, high-stakes mystery surrounding a local murder. To survive, she must rely on an eclectic found-family of pagans and students who help her awaken the dormant power coursing through her veins. Amidst the chaos, a slow-burn romance ignites, challenging her to reclaim her strength and identity in ways she never imagined possible.
Blending the grit of urban fantasy with the allure of an academy setting, this story explores the power of a woman coming into her own during midlife. If you crave a paranormal romance that balances dark-romance intensity with a mature, relatable heroine, this enchanting series is your next obsession. Prepare to be spellbound.

Once again J.C.Yeamans wrote a magical story about witches, folklore and magic. This is a great book about Gwynedd who is learning to navigate life during midlife. She is starting back to college after being away for many years. She's not sleeping after finding out her husband cheated on and then died. Now she has found out not only is she a witch but so were her parents. So many secrets to discover. ) One person found this helpful

I enjoyed reading this book. My only objections are the swear words and sex descriptions. I definitely liked having a mature heroine. ) One person found this helpful

It was a great story that featured an older woman which I just loved that idea and love her too. She went from a abused shrinking violet to a woman finally coming into SOME of her power. She had no preparation for any of it and she was terrified. She had good reason to be ! Her bestie friend, is hiding a lot of secrets and she's dying to shared this with Gwynedd but she can't YET. I loved her too ! She was zany, fnny and full of life ! At times Gwynedd, thought she just might be TOO full of...

I understand the reasoning behind the book, given the name. But I would rather there have been more witch stuff. There was some, even a good ending. But, for me, there was too much sexual acts. If that is your thing, this is a good book for you. But, even though the main character, a woman of Welch background, who never knew her parents, and none she, was/is a witch. There is some good witch learning and coven info, but still not what I expected. ) 6 people found this helpful

I really enjoyed this book. It is a good story line and although it starts a bit slow it does move along once the characters have been introduced. A middle age woman finds out she has inherent magic when she meets a professor in her Celtic studies class. Her friend talks her into attending her Pagen fellowship group and things move quickly after her magic is released.. Something wicked is happening in the little Delaware college town and people are dying. She needs to learn what her magic can...
