The Only Purple House in Town: A Cozy Paranormal Romance

by Ann Aguirre

About this book

Iris Collins has spent her life as a self-proclaimed chaos bunny, drifting from one unfinished dream to the next. When she unexpectedly inherits a vibrant, rambling purple Victorian in the quirky town of St. Claire, she finally finds a reason to put down roots. Determined to transform the house into a sanctuary for fellow misfits, Iris discovers that the walls hold more than just memories; they hold a touch of everyday magic waiting to be awakened.

This heartwarming paranormal romance is an ode to the beauty of building a chosen family from the ground up. As Iris navigates the financial hurdles of her new life, she must also confront a mysterious man from her past. Their second-chance romance is tender and sweet, providing the perfect emotional anchor for a story that feels like a warm, supernatural hug.

Perfect for fans of cozy fantasy, this standalone installment in the Fix-It Witches universe balances humor with genuine vulnerability. Whether you are looking for a story about finding one’s place in the world or a lighthearted magical escape, this enchanting tale proves that home is where the heart—and a little bit of witchcraft—resides.

A cozy tale with colorful characters

March 3, 2025

This book felt like a warm hug. It was funny, sweet, and had just enough fantasy elements to pique my interest. Iris is entirely relatable, flawed, and lovable. The romance was sweet and pretty clean which I liked. I loved that it was set in the modern world, but had (some) magic characters. It was interesting to see society's response to them and how the magic applied to a world with technology. My only regret is that this isn't a series (yet). Highly reccomend! ) 4 people found this helpful

LOVED

I absolutely loved this book. The characters, the plot, the writing style!!! It was amazing. I really enjoyed the aspect of Iris being independent while trying to figure out her financial struggles. I loved how she was just a light to all the people she met and brought a lot of happiness along the way. Eli is such a cute man. I loved how he had a crush on Iris for years and tried to work up the courage to thank her for helping him back in school. I enjoyed the paranormal aspect of the story and...

Enchanting Found Family Story—but a bit juvenile and lazy writing.

I enjoyed this story, and was compelled to continue reading. The characters are wonderful and sincerely written. I loved the found family of “misfits” & genuinely cared about them as I read. However, I’m not sure if the ebook format is different from the published version, but most chapters started with characters name not capitalized. And in quite a few chapters there were POV’s switches that were a tad bit confusing and I was forced to reread so that I could make sense of them—which in turn...

Delightful

I read romance because I enjoy reading about people falling in love. Although the only romantic love was between the main characters, this was a book about six people growing to love each other. It was wholesome and heartwarming, and I wish it wasn't over yet. I almost didn't read this book because another reviewer complained that the point of vote switched with no reason, but that was not the case. The author put an obvious vertical space in to delineate a POV change. Maybe that person's...

I absolutely adored this book. It had a little angst, but was mostly just sweet and wonderful. I appreciated they didnt end up together too quickly. And the end was fantastic. Hopefully we get an Olive book,! )
