And So The Breaking Begins: Mindbreaker Duet, Book 1 (An Age of War and Prophecy 3)

Angels of death are emotionless harvesters, bound by duty to collect souls. But when Keenan, a lethal angel, finds himself unable to claim the life of schoolteacher Nicole St. James, he makes a choice that changes everything. By saving her from a vampire attack, Keenan defies the heavens, forfeiting his wings and plummeting into the chaotic, sensory-overloaded world of humanity.
The fall leaves Keenan raw, vulnerable, and overwhelmed by forbidden desires for the woman who cost him his immortality. However, he soon discovers that Nicole is no longer the innocent human he saved. Transformed into a vampire, she is now a dangerous predator struggling with her own dark evolution. As the lines between hunter and prey blur, they find themselves caught in a deadly crossfire, pursued by both celestial forces and demonic appetites.
This high-stakes paranormal romance masterfully blends the guardian-angel trope with a gritty, academy-adjacent intensity. It is a relentless, pulse-pounding tale where a fallen celestial and a newborn vampire must forge an unlikely bond to survive. If you crave intense chemistry, fated mates, and a battle against destiny, dive into this electrifying start to a series where forbidden love is the ultimate act of defiance.

Wow! The pace of this book was relentless in the best way! I really enjoyed Keenan and Nicole's story. Watching Keenan experience emotions and touch for the first time with her was so awesome. I appreciated that Nicole was a badass in her own right and not a snarky damsel. I wasn't sure what to make of Sam at first, but I really liked him by the end. I am absolutely looking forward to the next book! ) One person found this helpful

It was my first time reading something by Cynthia, I wasn’t disappointed but I also wasn’t wowed. I’d suggest to friends but I don’t think I’d read it again out of boredom. The spicy moments are a nice touch.. there are a few action scenes but I wish there were more conversations between the characters. )

As posted on The Smutty Kitty 5 out of 5 Licks I bought this book because I received the third in the series (Angel in Chains) to review. I have a very strict read books in series order rule so I couldn't read my ARC until I read the first two and I thought I should review them too. This was such an awesome start to a series! The book grabbed me from the first sentence and I couldn't put it down. There was so much action around every corner and of course the sex was hot. Seriously a vamp and a...

I only gave this book 3 stars because it is not what I expected; for anyone familiar with this author I have no doubt it would be worth 4 to 5 stars. This is my reason: I love stories about fallen angels, nephilim, mythgology, vampires, etc. I love the mystery, intrigue and uniqueness of the stories. I was really looking forward to reading Angel of Darkness and his experience as a fallen angel; what I didn't expect was the story basically turning into a risque romance novel about his...

Excellent read. Cynthia has created another wonderful fast paced action filled paranormal read. I love how her angels are not such goodie goodies as we normally see them. There is struggle going on within all three angels we meet. Each seems to have his own \"demon\" to overcome. We meet Nicole as she is leaving the cathedral that was locked so she couldn't enter. As she is walking down the alley a vampire attacks her and Keenan (a death angel) watches the attack unfold. Nicole fights hard for...
