And So The Breaking Begins: Mindbreaker Duet, Book 1 (An Age of War and Prophecy 3)

by Frankie Robertson
Gideon is a Celestial Guardian bound by ancient, rigid laws: observe, protect from the shadows, and never interfere. For millennia, he has walked the earth as an silent sentinel, but his resolve shatters the moment he encounters Ana Lewis. When Ana’s sister vanishes into the clutches of a dark, magical conspiracy, she is forced to turn to the enigmatic stranger whose intensity is as dangerous as it is intoxicating.
This gripping installment of the Celestial Affairs series masterfully blends high-stakes suspense with the smoldering tension of forbidden love. As the line between duty and desire blurs, Gideon finds himself caught in a lethal trap. To save the woman who has captured his soul, he must defy the very celestial order he was created to uphold, risking his immortality for a chance at a mortal connection.
If you are craving a dark romance where angels walk among us and secrets carry deadly consequences, this is your next obsession. Frankie Robertson delivers an atmospheric, fast-paced narrative that hooks you from the first page and refuses to let go. Perfect for fans of Nalini Singh and Deborah Harkness, this story proves that even the most stoic guardians are no match for the pull of fated love.

Frankie Robertson is one of the authors I follow, so I always jump on new releases. Guardian is a great successor to the first Celestial Affairs book, Lightbringer. Ana's sister, Tasha, is kidnapped because she has untrained supernatural ability that could be turned to evil. Gideon and Ana have great chemistry together, and the adventure includes lots of characters I learned to love in book one. ) One...

Guardian, the second book in Frankie Robertson’s Celestial Affairs series, was everything I expected it to be and more. For me, Guardian was a ‘sneak away’ book, a story so engrossing that I kept pulling my Kindle out to read just one more chapter when I was meant to be doing something else. The main character’s anguish when her sister is kidnapped was palpable. While the story very much belongs to Gideon and Ana, it was nice to see Jared and Cassie from Lightbringer back as part of the action....

I liked the new book in the Celestial Affairs series. Gideon is a true Guardian, and his conflict between his orders and what he feels is right makes for a good story. You can count on Frankie to deliver. ) One person found this helpful
