by Carrie Pulkinen
Archangel Azrael is the literal Grim Reaper, and frankly, he is exhausted. Between the heavy burden of harvesting souls and a therapist who insists he needs a social life, he finds himself trapped at a speed-dating event for the supernatural. He expects a miserable night, but he gets something far more dangerous: Deirdre, a bubbly, irresistible vampire who is definitely not looking for a soulmate.
Their chemistry is instantaneous, proving that opposites attract in the most chaotic way possible. This grumpy-sunshine pairing is pure magic, fueled by witty banter and an undeniable spark. But Deirdre has a penchant for trouble, and when she accidentally touches Azrael’s forbidden scythe, she finds herself unexpectedly deceased. Now, the brooding angel has only three days to reunite his fated mate with her body before she is lost to the afterlife forever.
If you are hunting for a paranormal romantic comedy that balances high-stakes tension with laugh-out-loud humor, this is your next obsession. Carrie Pulkinen delivers a delightful, fast-paced tale of divine disasters and forbidden romance. Grab this book if you want a sassy heroine who refuses to stay dead and a hero who finally learns that even the Angel of Death deserves a second chance at love.

What a fun story! I loved Azrael and Deirdre, they had instant attraction even though they both were not looking for love. I enjoyed how Azrael got dragged into the speed dating event to begin with. Another amazing moment was when Deirdre touched his scythe, who can’t avoid touching what you are told not to. The characters are well written, the engaging plot draws you in making you want more, so much to enjoy. There are also several funny moments. I enjoyed the ending, well worth reading to get...

Azrael and Deirdre were two sups that are no longer interested in love, finding their soulmates, or even dating. Yet somehow they found each other at a speed dating event. Of course, the road to happiness is never easy in a Carrie Pulkinen novel, but then again, that is what makes her stories so special. Pulkinen keeps finding new ways to make sups interesting, and in this case, her rendition of Azrael, the Archangel of death, was intriguing. Having the grumpy angel of death and his grim...

Who knew the grim reaper was a grievance counselor. Azrael doesn’t want to move on until he meets a full of life vampire. Deirdre is sassy until she can’t keep her hands to herself. Together they both work through their grief to find they are truly soulmates. I really enjoyed this book, it was fun to read, now I need to go back to book one. I received a free copy of this book via Booksprout and am voluntarily leaving a review. )
