This book was everything I wanted it to be and more. I was so happy to be back in Timber Creek with Larkin family. These authors are just so good at writing family and community, starting with Deadlights Cove and now this series, I could read all their books just for that reason. But beside that, we have one beautiful swoony romance with lots of action. Generally a cue and fun book! I did enjoy the take on werewolves, vampires, and angels. There is a third act breakup that could have totally been avoided, but otherwise it was enjoyable. I certainly liked West and Jade more, but this was also fun and cute. ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️.5 Well, this was just adorable. FMC: \"Golden retriever puppy hopped up on cocaine\" MMC: Broody grump \"Dark Angel\" but really a simp The banter between the two MCs was delightful. I would say that this was one of the strongest areas of the book-their dialogue was hilarious and snappy. There's a ton of references to other romance/romantasy books that are sprinkled in but don't feel heavy handed or over the top (FMC summer is a bookshop/bakery owner is it fits for her character)....
