Annie is a college student drowning in the unresolved grief of her mother’s death, seeking solace in the quiet simplicity of a summer camp. Her world is strictly logical and grounded, until she meets Theo, a nursing student whose relentless optimism is as irritating as it is magnetic. But Theo carries an impossible secret that defies every boundary of reality: he has returned from the afterlife with a singular, celestial mission to find her.
This gripping paranormal romance masterfully blends the ethereal with the deeply human. As the pair is whisked into a high-stakes treasure hunt orchestrated by angels, the story evolves into a breathtaking second-chance journey that spans beyond the physical realm. The academy-style setting provides a perfect backdrop for their evolving connection, grounding the supernatural mystery in the relatable tension of discovery and growth.
Kiersten Schiffer delivers a heartfelt exploration of the dichotomy between hope and despair. For readers seeking an easy-to-read yet emotionally resonant story, this book offers a unique take on fated love. Will Annie choose the safety of her logical world, or will she embrace a destiny written by the stars? Prepare to be drawn into a mystery that is as intimate as it is epic.

I love supporting a local woman/author and am enjoying this series as much as her first! Kiersten is a great storyteller and this book kept me turning the pages in anticipation. I just ordered the next book and can’t wait for it to arrive! )

I absolutely loved this book. It’s a heartfelt, imaginative story that blends grief, love, and faith in a way that feels both intimate and epic. A great and easy read, but also ideas bubbles up that will make you stop and ponder. The management of mystery flows with the reader keeping those pages turning -- impressive writing. I'm buying more to give out to people. )
