Banished to a remote, inescapable prison island, Morthanion is a demon whose very blood burns with the memory of slaughter. After centuries of waging war against the forces of light, he is stripped of his magic and left to rot among the world’s most dangerous outcasts. Survival on the Isle of the Forgotten requires ruthlessness, but the arrival of a mysterious woman shifts his focus from warfare to obsession.
Aria has spent her life hiding in the shadows, clinging to the hope that isolation will keep her safe from the island’s predatory inhabitants. However, her carefully guarded solitude shatters the moment she crosses paths with Morthanion. Their connection is immediate and volatile, blurring the lines between mortal danger and undeniable passion. As a paranormal romance fueled by enemies-to-lovers tension, the story explores whether a creature defined by destruction can ever be worthy of a woman’s trust.
When Aria’s true nature is exposed, she becomes the most coveted target on the island. With the other inmates closing in, Morthanion must decide if he is willing to tear the world apart to protect the one soul who finally makes him feel alive. This is a gritty, high-stakes tale of redemption, fierce possessiveness, and forbidden desire.

1st off, let me say, for that person giving 1 star review of \"rape\"... they obviously did NOT read this book. There is no rape. That's just absurdly idiotic. This book is fantastic. The story is rooted in fantasy mythos, loads of ancient lore. Fantastic world building, stunning visuals, excellent articulation of ideas. The characters are empathetic. You feel their frustration at each other and their situation. Very well done. This book could have had another 200 pages to fully developed the...

In all honesty, the cover art put me off a bit, but the blurb reminded me of another story that I liked, and I was a bored panda in search of some beastlies to keep me entertained for a while. I'm glad I bought it, despite realising too late I'd picked up the first book in a series that hasn't been completed yet (I forget I'm reading them, etc. And STILL WAITING FOR GRRM TO GET HIS THUMB OUT) I enjoyed the characters, I enjoyed the premise, didn't enjoy repetitive soul-searching inner dialogues...

I like the main couple very much. The world building was okay. I wish there was a better explanation of her people and who they were. The Demons history was explained pretty well. The supporting characters were good. ) 4 people found this helpful

I have read a lot of missteps in literature lately, churned out by everyone and anyone that has a computer and a spell and grammar check program. A lot of those self published books should not even have seen the light of day. Just because a person can read and enjoy a book doesn’t mean they can or should become an author, everyone might have a story, but not everyone can craft characters. Then just as I was about to throw up my hands and declare I have read all the solid Indie author’s in...
