About this book

Bastien Durand, a fallen angel turned supernatural investigator, thought he had secured peace for New Orleans. However, the discovery of a cursed grimoire at a local auction house pulls him back into a dangerous underworld where nothing is as it seems. As he hunts for the truth, he uncovers the existence of the Shadowglass Mirror, an ancient relic powerful enough to manipulate the very essence of a soul.

The stakes turn personal when a manipulative scholar, Gideon Virelli, emerges with a chilling agenda. Gideon threatens to dismantle everything Bastien holds dear, forcing him to confront the terrifying possibility that his bond with Delphine is not the fated love he believed it to be. In this gripping urban fantasy, the lines between reality and deception blur, pushing the couple to the brink of an existential crisis.

Perfect for fans of atmospheric paranormal romance, this sequel masterfully blends high-stakes mystery with a slow-burn connection that transcends lifetimes. As Bastien fights to protect the woman he loves, he must face the ultimate question: is their love a divine tether, or a carefully constructed lie? Prepare to be transported to the shadowy streets of New Orleans for a suspenseful, heart-pounding journey where the truth is the deadliest weapon of all.

Wonderful, Suspenseful Paranormal Romance

January 27, 2026

The goosebumps finally settled after finishing Curse in the Quarter. I thought that Charlotte might finally find peace knowing her city was protected. I thought that Charlotte Lacroix was put to rest of the past in New Orleans. I closed the book excited for Bastien and Delphine's future. I couldn't have been more wrong. The chills began while reading the prologue of Relic in the Rue. Someone is manipulating Sebastian, threatening to awaken every memory that Delphine carries. That person wants...

Be Transported to New Orleans

Relic in the Rue is the second book of the Bourbon Street Shadows Series and picks up right where Curse in the Quarter left us with Bastien and Delphine but with more twists and turns that I could ever anticipated. I was on the edge of my seat the entire time. The fact that this story is written by two authors and I can never tell is such a testament to their skill. Together Heidi and Amy weave such a perfect slow burn, paranormal romance mystery that left me feeling as though I had been...

Continuation of Curse in the Quarter

Relic in the Rue was somewhat of a hard read for me. Not because of the storyline, but because I haven't read the first book in the Bourbon Street Shadows series, and this is why I gave it 3 stars. This made it hard to understand certain aspects of what I was reading. I recommend reading the first book in the series, as it'll bring more enjoyment to Relic in the Rue. )

Phenomenal Paranormal Romance!

January 27, 2026

I am loving this series from these two authors. Relic in the Rue continues on from where Curse in the Quarter ended and delivers more twists and turns to keep readers guessing and right at the edge of their seats. I love this mysterious paranormal romance and all the unique quirks that comes with the Louisiana folk lore. I want to say so much, but all I will say is that I look at mirrors very differently now. This was so well written and you cannot tell that two different people wrote this...
