by Andrew J Weis
Jessa Roscoe thought her life ended in a Chicago hallway, bleeding out after a desperate attempt to save her boyfriend, Daniel, from a violent confrontation with his gangster cousin. Instead, her death serves as the threshold to Hali, a celestial academy where the newly departed are forged into Protector angels. As a high-ranking Watcher, Jessa is suddenly thrust back into the mortal world with a mission that challenges everything she knows about duty and sacrifice.
To earn the prestigious rank of Archangel, Jessa must protect the very boy who watched her die. This forced-proximity assignment turns into a high-stakes urban fantasy adventure as she navigates a dangerous heist plot targeting the Federal Reserve. Tasked with keeping her identity hidden, Jessa struggles to balance her celestial responsibilities with the resurfacing trauma of her past life.
Blending paranormal romance with the intensity of found-family dynamics, this installment breathes electric life into the Hali Saga. Between a shadowy angel sabotaging her mission and the internal conflict of shielding a former lover, Jessa’s journey is a heart-pounding exploration of redemption. If you are craving a gripping, fast-paced tale where the lines between Heaven and Earth blur, this is your next unputdownable obsession.

Book four is where this series truly kicks into high gear! Taking a step back from our previous heroes to introduce Jessa was a bold narrative choice, but it pays off beautifully. Jessa's backstory in the gritty, industrial neighborhoods of Chicago provides a fantastic contrast to the ethereal realm of Hali. The emotional stakes in Watcher are higher than ever. Jessa is flawed, fiercely determined, and deeply relatable. Her internal conflict-choosing between securing her promotion to Archangel...

Jumping into Watcher, book four of the Hali Saga, felt intense from the very first page. It honestly didn’t even feel like the fourth installment — the energy is sharp, urgent, and completely gripping. This might actually be my favorite of the series so far. Jessa’s journey is heartbreaking and layered with tough moral choices. She’s strong but flawed, driven by justice yet wrestling with revenge and compassion. That internal struggle makes the story hit harder than expected. The love triangle...

Watcher the Hali Saga had me hooked from the start. The story focuses on Jessa, a young girl who dies and turns into her boyfriend's guardian angel. The world building in this book is phenomenal. I loved the magic system and the whole angel world was really mesmerising to read about. Jessa is a great protagonist who has to deal with a lot of intense moral dilemmas. This book was intense in the best ways and really had me thinking long after I finished the book. Looking forward to the rest of...

Some stories entertain. “Watcher: The Hali Saga Part Four” put me right straight into the storm and dared me to keep up. The tension in the story builds quickly, the stakes feel real, and the world carries that dark, electric energy urban fantasy fans like me look for. Characters face hard choices, shifting loyalties, and consequences that never feel small. The pacing of the story kept the momentum strong while the paranormal elements added depth and edge. This book doesn’t just continue the...

Jessa’s story grabbed me right away. The mix of Chicago street drama and angelic warfare shouldn’t work this well—but it absolutely does. Her death scene is brutal, and what follows in Hali adds depth instead of just spectacle. I liked that her mission isn’t simple; saving Daniel while wrestling with betrayal and revenge gives the story real weight. It’s fast, emotional, and layered. Great pick for urban fantasy readers who want action with heart. )
